This is done in order to offset the amount that we grind off the lobe when we apply a modified profile to a standard shaft. Please don't hold me to this, but, my understanding is there are 2 different diameter shims available. Approx. 11mm and 14mm . The standard shims are 1.9mm thick. I could be wrong but the important thing is that the shims that you buy are the same dimension as those already fitted. Derrrr . Yes, l know, l'm stating the bleeding obvious.
