For someone who doesn't understand the technical specs and such, how would you describe the performance and needs of this cam?

How does this compare to the 1636? On the website ( http://www.wadecams.com/ ) it says more power than the 1636, but what about torque, which is a better grind for the low down pull? It says more torque than the 977B, so am I to assume the power band for this grind is inbetweern the 1636 and 977B?

Forum member "Grechie" has been using the 1673 for a while. He should be able to give you some reliable information on how it goes.

I've got this cam in my xr6 and man does it haul a**. Pulled 154kw at wheels at MK automotive in Seaford. Really starts pulling from about 3000rpm, but I've had heaps done to the motor so i don't know how a standard motor will react, still had heaps of fuel according to dyno sheet(afr was around 12 at peak power) Good work guys, a BIG thumbs up icon_twisted.gif icon_twisted.gif

Big thumbs up to this cam,

I had 155rwkw with a 1636, i added this cam, still had 155, but i was leaning out now. IE the 977b half of the cam was asking for more juice.,

Fixed the fuel issue and no tune got me 174 rwkw with no filter on TB!

But same as grub73, my engine isnt a 4L standard. the bottom end has got the works internally.

Whilst most of our cams are intented to be installed "straight up", you
could, if desired, RETARD the cam up to 2 degrees, but no more.

this cam does work on automatics BJSPENCER85 has got it working in his AU motor in an auto.

i think its something similar to a 1673 profile ground onto an au cam..

either that or an eseries cam and he is still running e series head but i am unsure.

anyway point being his car is auto and it runs fine when its warmed up. however on cold nigths when the car is cold it idles like a pig until it warms up.
