not sure if this is gas, or ecu section but try here first as its more gas related.

i have a omvl gas system, becuase it hasn't worked since i got the timing fixed on my motor (runs a million times better on petrol) i havnt been using gas.

now because i havnt been using gas, and dont plan to unless i go turbo.
i am pulling the gas tank out before drag day, for weight and boot space.

my question is.

does the gas ecu have any effect on the petrol side of things, as it is wired into the petrol loom etc.

im not wanting to totaly remove the gas sytem as it might be needed in the future, just the tank (the mixer in the T-body is already gone). but want fully functioning petrol.

the gas ecu has two fuses, and an electronic (fuse/switch) thing. remove these and itll be off right? or is it already off?

i think its still doing somthing as when started it still flares up to 2200rpm then back down, my mates ef doesnt do that, i always assumed it was for when gas switches on at startup.

any help would be great.

p.s. sorry if post was a lil long...

ta,
Rushed

Dont take the tank out, just get the system looked at and get the gas running again. Im sure there is a reputable gas place somewhere near you. Where are you located?

its not that, when i had gas it was nice and cheap, but i want speed icon_smile.gif , you even notice the mixer ring when on petrol. i just want to pull the tank out for a while, and ponder on how to make the gas less of a power loss, better mixer + higher comp? but thats in the future. atm i want car go fast.

still asking does the gas computer have any effect on the petrol side of things?

Yes I have seen an example of the LPG ECU making the car run like crap.

Replaced computer - problem fixed.

A Landi Renzo SM+P will flow enough fuel for 245fwkw with a turbo, will work fine N/A and will cost $220.
