I'd say so, because the tacho goes out to 6000...

| It depends on if you have an I6 or V8 too. They each have different rev limits. My EL ECU doesn't stop the fun until 6250rpm. |

Apparently my EB 5.0 doesnt have a rev limiter.
Its funny watching the tacho go off the clock in economy mode (ok.. so my tach reading is 33% over!)

Yeah 5800 for an EL I6 is about right.
I regularily take mine to 5500. |

| I've only taken mine to the rev limiter once in 1st with the auto.. Right over the tacho. Otherwise the box shifts for you before anything like that happens! |

Had my I6 upto 5800rpm bouncing off the limiter before, did it once or twice when i wasnt thinking, didnt plan on doing it again lol, its a horrid sound.
Had the V8 off the rev counter once but have never hit the rev limiter, in D it shifts at bout 5.5-6k rpm, dont like the idea of seeing where the limiter is incase i blow something up. |

Go on, don't let fear hold you back.
I have done it heaps in I6 holding in first looking for problems, never hit one in a 5.0L because they were all pre 185kw, none of them seemed to want to rev high anyway.
My buzz box hits it way to easy in first, if you are not looking it is to easy to hit in second too, it only comes in at about 6750rpm, only 250rpm over redline, the problem is that it only really gets going not much before you hit it. (It is actually worse than the average 4 cylinder these days)
The buzz box is actually the first car I have owned with a rev limiter, only EFI cars I owned before didn't have one, XF EFI don't need one from the factory, power dies before the red line so why flog it anymore (4.1s don't sound to good at high rpm anyway) and a KC TX3, they don't rev either and is another waste of time (But I can't complain about engines broad torque range for its size). |
