Hi jamesbacon
Ihave just sent you a message on ebay asking about the ecu's.

I have a ef fairmont on dual fuel (IMPCO) what I want to ask a expert whitch one of this catch codes will suit a ef fairmont: 4DGA-B-C, 4TED, 4TEF, 4TEG, 4TGA-B-C-D-E.
Thanks Chas.

The second part of the question I was directing to who ever know the
codes for the ef fairmont.
If Krytox would answer my question I would much appreciate it.
Chas.

you could use almost any 6cyl EF auto Ecu, however one of the correct ones May be 4DCF or 4DCG etc. of tickford enhanced 4TBD (im sure this is an XR ecu)

anyways,

I doubt you'll benefit with a Tickford Gas ECU as the impco setup doesn't run a separate spark map.

I am no ECU expert someone else could shed a light on this, I just note what I find in cars (all parts) and research the difference *not easy* !

I hope this helps.

To Krytox
Would the switch over to gas turn only the injectors of and change over the ecu to gas ignition map? The factory gas I thought have it's own control unit like the aftermarket conversions. If I'm wrong some body can explane.

To RedRoo.
Is your ex taxi factory gas or aftermarket gas?

It'll work fine in your GLi, shift pattern will be slightly different, should handle a slightly larger cam better.
Would certainly be a fantastic addition to a signature.
