If I was curently in the market for a new car then based as to what I can see on paper I would take the VE GTS over a BFII GT-P. The po mo bo's mostly go for the pov pack SS or at the very most they'd go for the R8. The other models are starting to eat into their beer and smoke money and they can't have that.

IMO the VE V8 only looks half accpetable in selected colours. Otherwise it looks like a contorted bucket o s**t that happens to go like a wet s**t down a sewage pipe.

There is an upside to Australian auto manufacturers going under though. Not from the economic standpoint, but perhaps from the consumer standpoint. We'd have no choice but to import cars. Maybe we finally get some decent range from Japan and Europe. China will be doing well than too. We will be flooded with those 10k chinese cars.

Why stop there, if we get rid of EVERY job in australia and buy it all in from overseas for cheaper, everything would be so much cheaper!

but we'd have no money to buy anything unless we sold our a*** to singaporian sailors when they drop off all of our consumer items we so desperately crave.

Sounds like a joke, but it sure looks like we're heading that way, doesn't it.

Time to downsize, and make really good mid sized vehicles. Turn some Mondeo's, Focus's (Foci) and Fiesta's into road going, world conquering rockets. I know they can!

s**t, why should the falcon downsize? It's supposed to be a 'Large Family Sedan'. What would happen to a large family of 5? would they cram into a mondeo? Quite possibly an an SUV, but there is still a market for the Falcon.
I agree with bringing in the focus, mondeo and fiesta, but in recent years Australia are importing alot more new cars than ever before. We're creating jobs for overseas instead of for Australia.

OK. I see what your saying. Are family's 5 large going to take up 7000 new Falcon's a month. I f**k' hope so. Then there would be no drama's. Then again I'm thinking, where have they all gone at the moment, they can't sell 2000 let alone 7000. Where are the family's of 5 gone man. What are they buying now? icon_cool.gif

But gee I'd love to see a range of rear wheel drivers from the Fiesta up. That go like stink and are built like brick s**t houses. Would you buy one then. I would?

If they made a focus/mondeo rwd I too would probably own one.
You're right though, 7000 new cars a month to familys will never happen.
But remember fleets and government sales make up the total figure too.

i say ford should stick to the falcon cause mid siezed cars like the modeo
should i say mondog and the focus are just eurotrash
total crap in my opinion
the engineering in them is done on the cheap
they dont even have keyways on the crank or camshafts

So the cam and crank sprockets are basically bolted on? Honda motorcycle style? What a joke but if it lasts long enough then fair enough.
