Again our stage 3 cam has had the same amount of testing as the stage 2. With more torque across the range it comes alive from aprox 2600rpm untill redline (depending how its dailed).
The CMS 3 has a slight lope at idle & still is ECU freindly, this cam must have exhaust, inlet & valve spring mods carried out. SOUND GREAT AT IDLE.
Expected gains from a stock i6 is between 15-20rwkw (more with manuals)
They are a regrinde cam @ $385.00 with shims & a vernier gear (on a exchange basis)
To purchase the cam on its own is $205.00 (exchange)

I need a good high performance head for my cam ?
does anybody know what the mods are too head or flow rates to the stage 3 head ??
Or would it just be better getting mine ported polished as i was hoping for 400HP AT 500@thou.lift ???

I like to see a E series or even an AU for that matter, N/A i6 with 400hp & if you can it definatly won't be street driveble......... but any way my stage 4 & 5 heads flowed at 28 inches aprox 250 cfm which will suport up to 500 hp, the stage 5 we got another 4 cfm with a modified exhaust valve.... we recomend to use this set up with forced induction.
thanks Joe |

possible depending on cash, although i doubt you would be driving it on the street. Saw a video from overseas of a nissan CA18 that had been de-stroked (so bore/stroke ratio was 1.25), the block had cooling channels filled in with something, forgies, dry sump and a heap of other stuff crack 850hp (at 9500rpm), its idle had to be set at 1500 or something though |

I going to email the prices to you, my machiest/supplier has being struck down with a bad flew as to why I haven't sent the quotes to you, yet from time to time he may pass speciales to me so I can pass them on to you as well, I understand your eagerness for this but I need to speak to him first.
thanks

| How much are the heads for AU 4 litre I6 motors? Im after a nice ported and polished head. How much gain would a ported and polished head give in kw's with anice matching cam? Is it possible to get decent power out of a cam that starts at 2000rpm to 4500 rpm? |

My AU stage 2 head & cam package starts from $1250.00 but you must use an edit with this to take full use of the cams potential. With the usall mods like inlet.......... exhaust & CIA you should see around 145-150 rwkw but what will impress you is, the extra torque that it will make, & I can dial it to start higher or lower than 2000rpm, obviesly that will change the power caritaristiks.....(spelling).
thanks

Hey Joe are you able to say much on a simple Stage 2/3 cam setup on the EF/EL i6 how from 2800 / 3800rpm this will effect the exhausts audible level... as much as it ticks me off ive tried to everything by the book with mods to the car....finally got the bugger engineered as is... so not sure if youve done much in that way of testing against the ADRs / VSBs.. appreciate the info
Cheers again

Kev, unfortunaly Jase had a the misfortune to get a letter from the RTA as someone dobed him in...... now as he was running my stage 3 cam, at that piont of rev range it will pass emissions but due to the size of the exhaust system & the slight lope at idle not a chance so we put back the stage 2 & replaced the rear muffler/tail pipe section with a different type then went back for reteating, it droped it down to 107 dec from 115 roughly, we bascily had to put back the stock exhaust to comply, cat back that is to 90 dec....... so theroreticly every systen from the cat thats bigger than the stock system with sports mufflers will fail over here, & thats just the start as evrey thing else under the bonnet was ok.

Yeh sorta figured...s**t hey....wow 115db is alot mine with a modded exhaust, 4480 and stock XR getup was 94db...thats a massive increase in audible volume from the cam...(altho 94db is still with a 2.5" hi-flow cat single muffler)...well im still keen on a cam setup....just might have to hang back to all these inspections etc are sorted.. |
