Hi, well I havent got one for sale but know where I can get one from just wondering if it is worth it the person wants $3500 apparently its pretty good for its age, Tickford dual fuel, clean and straight body, drives great,so what do you guys reckon should I buy it oh btw I have a wrecked Au with excellent running gear 126k's thought I might transplant the running gear from it into the Cab give it a paintjob ,dump it and some decent wheels so again what do you reckon, worth it?

nah mate, in my books it ain't worth it.
When i clicked on the link i was expecting to see 2k not 3.5.
For starters the gear box will need attention and so will suspension.
Your better of buying an EF_EL they start from 5k icon_smile.gif

If it's as good as you say then yeah definately worth it, especially when you have a good engine and box to go straight into it.

id say try to nock the price down a bit, no matter how few k's it has, its an ex taxi, have a look over the chassis, (in the engine bay and wherever you can see it) look for any suss repairs, or cracking/bad looking gaps, if you know what an AU should feel like to drive you may be able to tell if the car is real loose, once you swap over the parts from the wreck it should be a good car, also what series is it?

Nuff said, the right man is on the job.
You obviously know what you're looking at Shai, so you'll know in yourself if it's worth it or not.
The big prob with taxi's is they are repaired fast, very fast actually, have heard of them cutting and shutting and back on the road in 24 hours. There is a panel shop here in Melb somewhere that specialises in them, if you'd call them specialists hehehe.

Weld that rear quarter on Habib, doesn't matter about the 1 inch gap, just weld it.

chassis's can tend to stress a bit over time, especially if they are driven round town, over bump etc, I know it sounds stupid, Its hard to explain, the metal fatigues, with exertions and so forth, just general car degredation, taxi's tend to have a philosophy of if its runnin it makin money, and this ones been running to have that many kays on it.

Sounds good for an AU, as long as she's straight and you've got the patience and know-how to overcome the typical ex-taxi issues.

500K isnt too bad at all.

well, my girlfirend has an ex taxi. EB series 2 with 890,000 kms on it. all i can say is that car is damn tight! my first ea that I bought for $1000 made more noises than this car does. admitted, the body is belted to the s**t house on this one, but it still goes...

by 500000kms id imagine that all suspension bushes would have been replaced as with shocks etc...you;d be up for a good grand or so to do all shocks and bushes so take that into consideration as well.
