Hey guys.. i am looking at knocking the height down a bit oon my gear stick. I dont really wanna get the hack saw out and knock the thread down, what have people done in the past to shorten stick length. I already have a short shifter in and just want a shorter stick.. about 1½ less would be nice.

The simplest way is to cut it from the top and rethread it although I have cut and rejoined a shifter through the centre in an old x-series

but the VN ones are not bent like a dogs hind leg, and thats the one I need for the EL. the EA/B/D ones are alot straighter as are the VN ones.

Thanks anyway

Im using a BA XR shifter in my car. It sits a little further forward and feels funny at first but once you get used to it , its really good.

Im getting one early next week, and its a straight stick. Its very similar to a BA XR stick like mooseman has.
hopefully it'll be okay.

no worries, ill get some before and after shots, and pics of the sticks against each other. its supposedly 35mm shorter than stock, but once i get a ba kknob itll be a touch shorter again as i believe the e series knobs are quite tall.
im hopeing its here today.

sorry to do a thread mine guys,

to those blokes who have a BA shifter handle in their EFs, how did you go about the actual fitting of the handle?

I have a manual going into mine in the next couple of days, and i have a billet products quickshifter and a BA gear stick.

the BA stick has a bolt mounted in it permanently, and the quickshifter has two threaded holes. what did you guys do to get around that? drill out the thread from the shifter? (thats the only way i can see around it, but i dont really want to drill out my new shifter!! icon_lol.gif

is there anything else anyone came up with?

cheers,
Nic
