| Note that the receipt you supply must state "Paid in Full", the first receipt I supplied had "paid cash" but was not deemed sufficient. Sent in the new receipt which the mechanic printed up for me and all was good. |

When we decided to actually open the LPG forum, i said i'd spend some time searching through LPG threads and shift them over, i may even move those 2 over.
If you find anymore just PM the url to me and i'll move them. |

I think you mean 4.0 litre mate.
You're looking around $2500 now, that's what my mate in Sunshine is charging. |

you can actualy get a diesel converted to gas.
i think they use a 40\60% mix ratio, its cheaper to run and 20% more power.
edit: just realised this is a sticky, sorry if its off topic. |

Just a quick question that I can't find an answer for on the government sites.
What is the definition of "conversion"?
Does it mean converted to run only on LPG or does the definition cover duel fuel vehicles? |

| It covers both, basically any vehicle converted to run on LPG, whether it be straight or dual. |

Converting to Gas IS WORTH IT!
I had a 2002 verada EI converted, cost me 1000 after the 2K refund from johnnie howard, it payed for itself in 6 months, then I wrrote the bastard off.
After having a taste of cheap fuel I vowed never to be f*#ked over again by fuel prices, so i bought an AU wagon X cab, not the prettiest thing but gets me around cheaply,
the so called "gas is dangerous" thing.....
not true. in the accident the colision sensor tripped and cut off teh supply at the tank.
and the "gas is not ecconomical" rubbish....
It cost me the same amount of money to run a 3.5 V6 as it did to run my old Kia mentor 1.5.
and you do loose a little bit of mileage, I did a test,
Drove to syd, one tank petrol, and another Gas.
(my car was dual fuel Obviously) and there was a 60K diference...........
My AU wagon is an ex cab, runs off gas only, but its as cheap to run as my old verada, just gotta watch out that I dont run outa fuel, otherwise its a tow trip to the servo. |

Got my fairlane converted to dual fuel last december....... Total cost to me was $200 after the rebate.
Now costs me $8 to do 100ks not $15 in petrol.
Total cost to drive from Adelaide to Melbourne return $97.00 for 1650kms

About 6 months ago i got a quote to convert a falcon EF/EL wagon to straight gas, with two tanks fitted in the same positions as per the factory E-gas system. I was quoted $4400. I asked if the quote was for an injected or carby system and he said carby. |

Just some points from an installer
* The rebate is only available for privately registered vehicles
* Yes the installers invoice must state paid in full
* If YOU are subimitting your paperwork for the rebate you need 4 forms
1/ The rego papers of your vehicle in your name
2/ The installers declaration
3/ The installers invoice
4/ Your declaration
Check ALL details are CORRECT !! ie dates vin number etc etc
Submit the forms over the counter at Medicare OR Centrelink
Some staff at above may not be familiar with the deal & try making things difficult for you . So ask for a suppervisor or providing your confident all forms are accurate & filled out correctly ask that the forms be submitted as is . Some of my customers have had problems then gone from Centrelink across to Medicare ( or vice versa) and had the forms submitted withoout argument .
The the forms go to Adelaide ( as I understand ) where they are processed and BINGO the $2000 is back in youir bank account within 5 to 6 working days.
I ask my customers at the free first service how long it took for the money to come in & they all say five working days , but my mate said it took six days .
There folks hope that helps !!!
Oh yes the rebate is under threat with our new Rudd Government , so best send an email to Peter Garrett if you want a $2000 rebate next month or year or who reallly knows what they will say/do on Budget night
Kind Regards
