Hey guys
- i need another 12v source.... !!
is it possible to split the incomming 12v wire running into the cig lighter, and feed 1/2 back into the cig and use the other half of the wire for something else?
Is there an appropriate plug or device i can get from a local dse? or should i just attack it with my knife and some tape?
cheers guys. |

If it's an EL you already have a spare power source under the dash. It is designed as a mobile phone connector, with four pins. It has 12V from the battery, 12V from the accessory bus, and earth and a mute connection to the audio system.
Other than that just tap into any 12V source under your dash. |

If you do wish to tap into an existing power source, the best and most reliable way I have found is to cut into and solder on an second wire. I also prefer heatshrink not tape.
There are connectors called scotch-locks available, however i have found them unreliable in the past. |
