okay so this time dont run with a carload of mates, do a run of just the driver in each, and like i mentioned before, take out any dead weight like subs/spare.
I meant more like what steady said about 'stalling' the auto, sept i didnt really know how to explain it. havent driven auto for a long while now. |

I don't know how all the Ford boys on here, can just plainly state, that you'll flog him. I doubt you will.
I reckon it will be line and ball. If his ute's a bit ratty, then you might just pip him top end.
The saving grace you have, is thats it an auto.
If it was a manual ute, he'd flog you. VN-VS manual 6 utes move pretty well. The auto's slow them down a heap. |

vn auto are very similar to manuals in terms of speed where as wit ford a manual gear box makes a massive diffrence.
generally ford i6 should get a holden v6 over the quarter,
i am yet to lose to a commy v6 on a street race until the speed limit. |

I don't know how the manual/auto makes no difference in VN's works.
The 3-4 manual VN's i've been in, all fly for the buckets of s**t they are.
One must have been a freak, cause i would've put it in low 15 sec territory, the thing just screamed.
Yes the manuals in the Falcon's mnake a huge difference too, but auto to auto. I reckon this will be a very close race. I'll be waiting to here the results and see some timeslips. |

vn commy autos have very short ratios, first and second are just as short as their manuals,
as the commies got newer the first 2 gears in the auto wer also slightly increasd. which is why a vn would hammer on take off but a vx,vy and vz are slugs off the mark.
where as ford used the same ratio auto gbox since the ea 4speed through out to au.
as i said before if both are in good nick the ford i6 should win, no argument.
i remember seeing old nrma specs and road tests. vs stood no chance near a ef. ef clearing 0-400m in 16.1 and the vs in 16.9. the ford was even quicker 0-100. |

| the commo utes do go harder, but i would still tip the falcon to win, probably by a couple of carlengths. |

i get so sick of people like 'haHa oMGz...i hav beaTeD n3W hSv'S iN mY StoCk Ea 3.2CPI...'
seriously, shut up and get over yourselves...the fact of the matter is...commodores ALWAYS take off the line quicker than their falcon counterparts...and the falcons always catch up a bit in the gearing...
the holden v6 makes more power down low than the falcon i6...the holden auto is geared lower in 1st gear....
just because it's a holden and you're a ford...doesn't mean you'll win! |

well this topic is going off LOL...
Auto vr sedan will do a mid=high 16 sec pass.
put it this way, If a vy or vz manual ute is having trouble doing a 16 flat (16.5 all night LOL) then I would say you should go alright against it.
how well mechanically is your car running?
My bucket of poo 360 odd thousand kays rapes Gen 3 v8's off the line throught the 60 footer's at the drags, they poo their pants when old grandpappy spec falcon passes them out the traps!
its soon passed tho by the v8's as they pick up momentum. |

oh for f**k sake. shut up noob you're wrong, v6 makes far less power than the i6 down low, falcons dont always launch slower, if its manual falc vs manual commo the falc is everybit as quick if not quicker off the line. falcs have generally always been heavier as well, which doesnt help with launches. |
