Master system II, SNES, PS1 and frankly I couldn't give a s**t about gaming much these days. Still whip out the old PS1 for the odd thrash as its the only console I have left in working order.

that was when gaming was about making the most of the limited power avaliable. I would love to see a game developed these days that pushes the limits of the system it was designed for. sadly I don't think that will happen. developers have too much power at their hands, instead of big games and small systems, it now seems small games and big systems by comparison..

Its true. They are always talking about the potential of a system... then they just release a new one. If they used all of the potential of a system, we would have some awesome games!

GTA San Andreas pushed the PS2 to its breaking limit, they had to omit features because it couldn't handle it.

Expect the third one in the GTA 4 series to do the same.

GTA4 will be good, this time instead of sheer map size I understand the map is alot smaller, but the overall detail is amazing, it is ment to make the most of the blue ray capacity, approx 30 gig, 10x the amount of a dvd, soon to be released will be the 90 gig disk if not already avaliable, think what that could do for gaming, a 90gig game...

master system, megadrive, 32x, saturn, dreamcast, xbox, xbox 360

microsoft used the dreamcast as a springboard (if you will) into the console market, if you recall it ran Windows CE

i also never owned a gaystation or a nintendo, all my mates did

sega was the greatest when it came to unique games, the console war is tame now by comparison

Don't have time for video games......too busy working or modding the ute or the Turbo. But I do own a PS1, 2xPS2 (1s a slimline), X-Box and one of those real old video games with the bar people that only play hockey and tennis etc (you know back when video games were the ducks nuts). But I also have 3 kids so I can't get near any of them anyway........ icon_rolleyes.gif

I brought a wii with some extra games for the kids during Xmas. I was a bit disappointed with the graphics as if I've just gone back in time seeing what it was like with PS1. over all, the free Wii sports game that came with the console was more addictive then the $99 games{transformers, pokemon & avatar}
love the boxing, golf & baseball. I hog it more then the kids, especially the golf! LOL
At the end of the night I always fall back on the Xbox which I now have relocated in my bedroom. icon_wink.gif

Ive been a nintendo man up until my house got broken in to and they stole my N64. then onto an xbox and the missus got me a PS3 for Christmas (which was a mistake because now I live on it)

Now I have been told yes and no on this topic. I have the 40GB system. Can I play PS2 and PS1 games on it or not. I would try, but my brother has all his games down south now.

Oh ohhhhhhh I'm going back further cause of my age
nintendo game & watch, colecovision, atari, atari 2600, commodore 64, amiga 500, amiga 1000, nes, sega master system, sega master system II, mega drive, snes, dreamcast, n64 (with Doctor V64) ps1, ps2, ps3, wii ,xbox, xbox 360...

Now this is from 1985 onwards obviously not in order towards the end Sold my 360 to get wii, then sold that to get ps3.
I sold my wii within 3 month cause the boring factor of the games, sold the ps3 cause the games were burning a hole my pocket, Ive reverted back to the 360 cause all versions are easy to hack and cheaper to have backups icon_wink.gif

At the time I sold my n64 due to the expense of the cartriges, then I found on the net about the v64 and in a desperate attempt bought another n64 and luckly enough found a guy in the ol' tranding post and he lived in my local area YAY... Some dodgy dude he knew was selling like 4-5 games to a 600MB disc for $60!!!!! So I started searching the net and found games galore... 10 mb game in old modem days would take upto 30-40 mins (Imagine now with cable icon_lol.gif )... In the end before i sold it I recon I had well over 260 games... The v64 was the best $300 dollars I spent considering. They had another company who did the z64 I think which ran on a zip drive that a mate of mine had and caused him nothing but dramas all the time icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

Now days if there is any old school like that I just get a emulator for the PC

Halo 2 pushed the origional xbox about as far as it could go. you could see the game drawing the finer details on itself at the start of cinematics. Halo 2 smashed graphics detail out of the ballpark for the ability of the console it was on. looks better than *some* ps3 and 360 games.

Just play the Halo 1 ending in split screen and you know they had it on the limit, modified with installed on the hdd or not, it couldn't keep up with frame rates.

i started with a ps1, then a slimline ps2 (GTA San Andreas FTW, as well as V8 Supercars icon_smile.gif) i dont realy like the feel of the new ps3 although i have been told by everyone that they are the ducks nuts now. I have an xbox as well which has a bigger hard drive in it now and is used as a media center for my trusty old falcon icon_smile.gif, very good for the car. but yea i love my ps2. o btw i bought guitar hero the other day and its definately as good as people say, and very addictive haha
