Yes another door trim post.
i had help from Benj and he showed me the easy way to mark for the holes to drill, and that made it very easy.
The thing that makes this not so easy is me and the fact that i used the EF door rods and that meant allot of pulling s**t apart to fit them.
I am very very happy with the result so far, i have done 3 doors and only have the drives side front to do, my back is buggered for to day and the rain has stopped me from getting it finished.
here are some photos of my progress, oh i will be making a doco for it as well. i have to put the arm rest screw bugs in and clean the trims.

looks great bunter i did this aswell with help from benj but i bent the rods and that and i was looking and iam going to get dads jigsaw and iam going to put the eb handles in the trim and replace the bent ones with some eb rods i have laying around i will post pics when i do it..
and how did you go with the wires i am still trying to figure the wires out (well too lazy and cbf when i come home from work) |

i got the last door done at last with the on again off again rain slowing me down.
Haven’t done the wiring yet will do that next week not in a hurry, but remember im using the EF mirrors not the eb mirrors.
it was allot of hassle putting the EF door rods in but in the end well worth it as there is no guessing with bending rods.
the other plus of it was drilling the rivets out and using bolts on the actuators , so now if one dies i unbolt not have to worry about drilling if im were i cant use one.
The way you showed me Benj is the way i did all the other doors, as the way you showed me was the best way to do it & the easiest, (fool proof)
to me doing this mod hypes me up more to do more i see the car looking better than i could have dreamed of having it look.
I was going to stop at clear blinkers and au side repeaters and the side skirts and wing but now I have the virus the moding virus there is no vaccine for this new virus I have got.
I will not be doing the EF dash mod i like the box car dash, if i want a ef dash ill buy a XR8 EF lol.

Looks really good mate, well done!
I'm forever hearing people saying the colour's don't match perfectly, and the door trim doesn't line up with the dash very well, but from your pics it looks fine. |

thanks and i had no isuse in the trims lineing up, as the way benj showed me how to set the door trim up before i drilled the needed holes, as well as using the EF door Rods helped keep it all in line.
preperation is the name of the game if i was to hold the door trim and then drill the holes i best it would have never lined up.
all i had to do was put the trim on put the screws in around the trim so it was lined up then drill so bloody easy.
it will take all night to clean up the mess of s**t all over the place and in the car the boot. and i will have to wsh the car tomorrow to remove all the grubby makes all over the car, then spend an hour of so cleaning the trims.
again Benj a big thanks for all your help.
by the way i will blame Benj as i was thinking if i wanted to do this mod a wile back and when i met ben and he had done the mod and saw how it looked in his car that made my mind up to do it. |

| and before i forget i used the foam backing that came with the door trims and it cut down on the road noise allot. |

| great job and I agree with using the ef door latches as they are now cheap and common to source. I am soon to do a body swap with a ef gli and a fairmont that is body damaged so I will have my work cut out with the loom swap. |

If you ever get sick of looking at them Bill, I can match them up with your old interior pretty quickly. LOL

| Don't need to drill out door actuators, been there and done it. Disconect rods from external handle and key hole. Unbolt rear window track and wiggle latch around it, tilt on side and disconect actuator rod from it. POP |
