the letter "C" indicates Tickfod I6 Auto in Fairmont ECU also includes speed sensative steering.. |

I have 2 PCM's for my EF Futura 4.0 auto
One is a 4DBG manufactured in 07/17/96
the other 4DSA has remanufactured printed on it but no date and was fitted by a Ford dealer quite recently and is not to my knowledge in the lists here. So it seems a B or a C or an S can mean auto.
Does one PCM have any advantage over the other?
I thought the diff ratio speed correction was taken care of in the trans by changing the impulse wheel. And the instrument cluster is where the adjustment for speedo error in police clusters takes place not the police PCM.
Cheers,
C |

Its out of an F Series, F150/250/350
I think its a later one, say late 90's
I only have E9-AR2A listed on my booklet.
I'd bet its a 5.0 auto :/
But would have to ring to confirm. |

| i've got an NC II Sportsman fairlane.. it has the 3TBA ecu and tickford engine, now does this mean that my engine is actually an ED engine and not an EB XR6 engine as i was previously assuming? |

EB ED XR6 engines are the same, it has a 3TBA for the LWB (LWB = wagon, ute, Fairlane, LTD) models as tickford engines were not fitted to LWB models untill 1993.. |

Hey all ... just wondering if anyone knows what the catch code would be for an NL Fairlane by Tickford (LWB version of the EL GT, not just a Tickford I6 Fairlane). I really don't want to pull mine apart to try and find out ... but just curious if it runs the standard 8 ECU, or if it's some sort of weird hybrid Fairlane / GT ecu?
If no-one knows ... I might just have to break out the screw-driver. |

Hmmm, so do I just pull the passenger kick panel off, and read it off the ECU under there? I assume I'll see it as soon as I pull it off ... just don't want to break anything. |

Ok, 1 broken xmas tree clip later, and I've got the code. It reads as part number 96OT-12A650-AA, so I'm assuming this is catch code 60AA ? So, does this actually mean anything. AND, the big question is, if I fry my computer one day, what are my options? Does ford keep producing all of these forever? Or will my car be useless ?
Specs are EL GT specs, 24Lb injectors and MAF etc, but with a slightly different Cam.
So, where can I get hold of some cappa xmas tree clips? |

the catch code is in large letters above the barcode like so...
should be able to get a cappa xmas tree clip from the wreckers... |
