| last drag day the best i could do was a 15.72 @90.0mph, i didnt have too many runs but theres a little bit more in it without more mods,just need to sort out the wheelspin. just thought i'd ask what other mods will help me achive the 14's, i wanna run mid 14's and atm only have intake mods and a cat back.i havnt been bothered doin much as there hasnt been a point but now i am keen to go quick b4 i supercharge it.i dont want to change diff gears and put a stally in it until i have tried every other option.lol.i will be getting extractors and have it flash tuned in the coming months but what are people running with similar mods? And what mods will help me achive this goal. |

Fit some extractors to get that extra horsepower.
Fit a set of Mickey Thompson Street slicks to help with grip, that in itself should shave 1-2 tenths.
I assume you already got 3.45 lsd so its a good start, but my next step would be 3.9 or 4.11 diff gears.
That should be enough to maybe dip into the 14's, but sounds like maybe you dont wanna spend the money in the first place? |

lol, as long as you stick with the stock auto and average diff gearing then your going about it the wrong way.
The falcons are already quick, you just gotta fix the gearing up. I ran a 16 with stock auto Fairmont, then 15.8 with a cam, then 15.2 with 3.7 diff and manual... and even then it had a 14 but had bad axle tramp in 1st gear |

| i've been seriously considering 3.9's but dunno how its gonna be in as making a difference, should i crack a 14 if i do the gears and nothing else? |

nobody's mentioned yet... but...
good strip times comes after lots of practice down the quater...
ive done on my i6 ef fairmont T5 equiped a
14.1 @ 97.14 mph.. 1.98 sixty footer..
stock ef xr diff gears.. (3.45) full interior full street 19's...
just minus spare tyre/subs/jack.... on a talf tank of fuel.. (premium)
and took alot of practice to get those times.. and run them pretty consistently... |

| yeah definatly, would be good if theres a couple more drag days this year to get some practice, was my first time at the drags last time actually racing soyea. |

Nice time.
Getting it down is going to be hard, you'd need around 200 rwhp+, good rubber, at least 3.45's to get there in under 15. With a stall it'd be easier, if you had good rubber. |

LOL that 14.1 is great but i think its more than just "practice" that netted you that time
Stage 4 "ITS" bottom end, stage 3 "CMS" head and cam and god knows what else. 160 something KW at the wheels is a good start  |

i thought the thing would have a "bit" of work to do that time but if you can consistently do it then that is real good |

yes...
An great racer can get an aaverage car great times....
and a poor racer can get an excellent car poor times...
i certainly did not start out in the low 14's with this combo... it came after many nights at the drags... started at mid 15's...  |

yes...
An great racer can get an aaverage car great times....

Thats with a manual though, where driver skill comes into alot more.
With a <150rwkw auto 6, there is probably only a tenth or two between different drivers, and thats only if one weighs alot more then the other. |

very hard to do with a slushbox, espeacially with a std stally.
i got a dirty old eb wagon to run 14.9 with a cms stg 2 cam, pacemakers and 2.5" exhaust, manual and 3.27LSD, on an engine with over 400k on it too, so nothing is impossible.
keep trying and have fun while your doing it... |

I ran a 14.97@92.69mph in my old ED, it had 187rwhp, 3.45's, Nankang 235/45 17's and a busted slippery, and the 14.9 had a 2.3/2.4sec 60 footer so i dont know why you say 200+rwhp |
