Your shift kit may almost be made redundant now. LOL It's cheap enough to change a resistor though, isn't it. Cheers, Paul well i think ive stuffed up because ive used the 18/pin57 and the 5.6/pin38 on the 94 nc2 lane and it works , firm shift , too firm for full throtle in the wet whats this combo going to do to the box ?????? I don't know what effect it will have on the box, but also consider the other drivetrain components diff, uni's etc. Try rebuilding it with different resistors. Use the 1Ohm instead of the 5.6 and see what happens. So, Paul you haven't stuffed up with your resistor setup, for an EL ECU. Anyway both sets of resistors would work, just the harshness or firmness rate alters. With an Eaton M90 puffing away, I'm not surprised you've had it dancing, an earlier post suggests raising the 18ohm resistor OR lowering the 5.6ohm as the way to soften shifts, or both. So try a 20ohm [max. a 22ohm = factory shift I'm told] on p57 and then an incrementally less than 5.6ohm on p38 until you find the combo that works for you. No Ben, an M90 blower is not what you clear the leaves with... Yesterday I got my smartlock bypass module and installed an EL ECU. I drove the car for about 50kms. During that time, after discovering the power/economy switch now works in reverse, I played with my shift kit. I have mine set up with an 18ohm and a 1ohm for the EB ECU. With the shift kit turned on the shifts were much smoother than the standard sport setting. To me this says that with an EF/EL ECU you need the smaller resistor to be 5.6ohms. I have not yet installed a 5.6ohm resistor yet to confirm this, so again I may be misinterpreting things. So my apologies for any incorrect advice I gave from misinterpretation of the documentation I have to hand. Real life experience always shows how things actually work. From memory 71 is a red one and 81 is a green one. Make sure you get the right ones. Cut the wire from pin 81 about 10cm away from the ecu. Now you need to solder wire 2 to the ecu side of the cut wire, and wire 3 to the other side (transmission side). " so you're making this box part of the circuit and the ECU and TRANS are now connected through this box via pin 81? I think you are onto the right thing there. By substituting any of the resistors for something stronger, you should be able to control the firmness of the shifts, in this case make them softer. I do however, almost have the ED ready for the road, and it now has the auto in it, so i may end up fitting it after all. From the sounds of it, it will make the stocker that bit more fun to drive, and might not make my g/f whinge about having the drive the " auto " so much, rofl.
