Looking to head down the track in the future and wondering where my money is best spent to help get the best time over the 1/4 mile

Im running EA 5 speed...... which means 3.5 first gear plus 3.7 single spinner diff means traction is an issue, so im thinking 2 options

...... been quoted nearly $1000 to have a rebuilt LSD fitted to my diff

OR

....... fit a pair of 235/70 American Racer semi slicks around $600 posted

http://www.vpw.com.au/product.asp?CatID=16&PrdGrpID=2439&ProdID=74803

What would be more beneficial on the track?

I'd say LSD first to get the traction
then get some semi slicks...just my opinion.

nitrous, slow take off, and then hit it.
Best bang for your buck you will ever find

haha yeah thats my plan, but i dont know if i can afford both. Im worried about the lsd as ive heard alot of stories of people having a single spinner diff 6 months after a LSD rebuild?

that would be ideal, but knowing my car the only thing going "bang" would be headgasket icon_lol.gif

Spool hands down. If its a track car then why waste 1k on a rebuilt LSD when a spool can be fitted for a fraction of the price. That is if it is actually a track car.

ok sorry i gotta rephrase it then, its a family car that will see the occasional track duty.

Basically looking at the two above options and wondering which would help traction more?

Why would a headgasket go?
Done prpoerly, nitrous is awesome, cheap, addictive and just unbeatable.
I have never blown a thing.
