Hi mate
I have an el fairmont and was looking up few different options turbo, installing a 5lt charging etc.... Looked up mr mocks setups also yuours seem to be the best go for your dollar in regards to performance, the question i have is ive just fixed my head gasket gave the head a slight shave and new gaskets, now without taken the head out and just buying the cams vernier timing gear etc what woudl the cost be and being el i herd thers abit more play with the timing so with full exhaust what kind of power figure would i be looking at cheers.... |

your saying that you are looking at going turbo or something like that, to me thats saying that your chasing big hp.... no head & cam package will produce that sort of power that you'ved mention!!....My 2 & 3 head & cam packages with the in & ex mods carried out will give you between 130-150 rwkw, bolting a Snort kit will give you around 185rwkw....so you need to work out realisticly what you want...
thanks

We can do any engine package you want as our N/A short motor bottom ends will support up to 400HP (stage 3-4-5) that is..... its up to what you want as for what head & cam package that fitts your bugget......All ACL Race series kit
eg: My N/A E series Performance Engine packages starts from $3600.00 stage 2....$4250.00 the stage 3...$4950.00 stage 4 & $5500.00 for the stage 5...... Au series engines from $3750.00 stage 2......$4400.00 stage 3...... $5065.00 stage 4 & $5650.00 stage 5, All these prices exclude R&R & p&h...... then the 4.8 ltr which I'm yet to work out, the mob that are pricing my conrods are closed untill early Jan so I'll have that one worked out then,

Hey Joe
When you get a chance would you be able to give some specs on what you get in each package and the specs.
Such as:
Comp Ratio
Rpm Limit
Type of Use: ie. Street or Race only
Ideal Stall speed
Expected Power
Fuel Required
I looking at maybe a stage 4 or 5 depending if i could have the 5 as a reliable daily driver. lumpy idle doesnt phase me.
Thanks Jake |

Jake, exactly what do you want to do ??? do you want it for street & the odd track day.... or are you going to race it ???? or do you want a dyno car ?? also I wouldn't worry about the stage 5 unless your going to go forced induction (turbo/supercharged)

Hey Joe
I want it to be a tough street 6 with a bit of track work.
What do you think would be the best combo??
I will be getting one of your transmissons with a stall, idle doesnt worry me, full engine rebuild, allready have exhaust, intake and diff work done.
Thanks Jake |

Jake, what I recommend is to run a Stage 4 motor with a Stage 3 cam coupled up with a 2800rpm stall converter and I guarantee it will be a very quick car. If you want a more aggresstive cam you will require an aftermarket computer, but you will not get the economy on cruise as the Stage 3 cam with the factory ecu controlling it.
When I get time during the week I will pm you a cost of the whole package!
Thanks
Joe |

gday mate had a read through your threads i shall get intouch with you in a month or so as i am overseas savn coin for me new motor haha.
anyways i just forked out an arm and a leg for a el xr6 manual ecu off ebay to go into my eb. i mainly bought it to run thermos and a bbm without thos sketchy frequncy swithches. and cause i thought the bbm gave a little extra poke. but you dont thinks so????
another question i also read about a saloon spec head you do where does this fit in comparison to the stage 3, 4, 5 and how much with a stage 3 cam. do you think this will go good with the el xr6 ecu i bought and should i turf the bbm?
im after a n/astreeter that will give the average v8 a run for it money. any advice would be appreciated
thanx mate |

yes there is mate, Ford Freak is running the 3 head and cam top end, however he also has a rebuilt IT's Stage 4 bottom end.
im running the stage 3 cam and a stage 2 saloon spec head. makes low 140's due to comp being 8.8, u will have the same prob without boosting the comp up for N/A application.
also fast xr is running a stage 3 cam with a 2 head.
for the stage 3 gear you will need xtractors and zorst, plus cai would help big time. the thermos dont make that much of a difference, help with throttle response down low thats about it.
if your staying N/A, go the 3 stage 2 head, change the pistons to get the comp up or change the engine to a ef/el bottom end. |

how much comp are your going to run ?? & how much boost do you want to have..... your engine builder should be able to help you with this running the stage 3 is fine but I'll have to change the LSA on the cam for your application , which is not a problem
thanks

excellent i dont know much about the boosted side of things so forgive me if i ask dumb questions
it will be running a 9 psi pulley
its a raptor kit
the engine was just going to be a normal rebuild but im getting a bit of money so i thought acl race series rebuild kit your head and cam package
dont know what headers to run and im getting the t5 put in as i go
just for curiousity how much would you charge to do this work with me supplying supercharger brackets and pulleys i can fit the t5 was just going to be lazy hahahaha |
