The AU gets a thread of its own, I can indulge any Ford cravings I have on this beast and it will be seen trialling new technology like the watercooled charger when it comes along.
The AU is unremarkable (stock appearance) as a vehicle in itself however it will be the development machine for all AU kits apart from the VCT kit already available.
Proejct AU
I will get to listing all the everyday minor details that have happened to it so far and what is next.
Below is a pic on the dyno and a dyno sheet with before and after power for the extractors and exhaust mods

The airconditioner pump outlets are positioned differently meaning we need a dedicated bracket for this model. Otherwise yes it would fit right on.
We will not be producing any kits at all for EA/ED or XG/XH utes. People will have to go with what kits are already supplied into the market for these models. |

| any reason why the run was done in 2nd gear? I was under the impression that manuals best done in 4th, and auto's in 3rd? |

| Done in 2nd gear because in third it hits the speed limiter and cuts power before the motor can fully rev out. I am actually suprised so few Ford people understand this one as the problem occurs with these speed limited jobs and has been the situation for years now. |

Wicksy
That is correct, and will be tuned by the supreme Ford tuner, Dave Sheehy. |

| Tim, not sure how far you're planning to push the ute, but if you're thinking about higher-ratio rockers this thread I found today may be of interest. I'd been under the impression it wasn't possible to fit the E-series 2:1 rockers to the AU in place of its 1.8:1 units, but there are at least 2 members in this thread who have done it. http://www.fordmods.com/forums/au-head-with-ef-rocker-gear-t62837.html |

Ta for that little number, I am definitely one for higher ratio rockers if they can be fitted. its a big thing in the Holden V6 scene and the things work like magic.
Today the AU pipework was completed but not polished, ran out of time. Kit will go on and check a few things, if I be game to take a photo then I will put it up here.
Tuning doesn't happen till Monday week so a quite a while left to connect a few bits of pipe ........ oh the agony of it. |

Yes I've covered a lot of ground in researching this Tim. At times it's taken a herculean effort not to look under "C" or "H" in the motoring classifieds those boys are really spoilt for choice. Good to see a decent bolt-on option coming to market. |

Sly
We are certainly about to spoil the Ford camp, they will have the same options pretty much as the H camp with ProStreet kits for all the cars and some ProStreet Intercooled stuff, maybe not on all models and its likely to be WTA rather than ATA except for Territory which has so much room that ATA is a given |

The AU ute has so far recieved the following items over the last few months
Pacemaker competition headers, 3" metal cat and full 3" pipe, with 2 big muffs, quiet as stock inside and out. See picture
All lubricants have been serviced, Amsoil synthetic gear lube in the diff, Amsoil synthetic auto trans fluid and engine is currently a Valvoline synthetic (will change to Castrol Edge)
Sparkplugs are genuine Ford Iridium gapped to .9mm
Replaced a faulty freeze plug after some casting dags rubbed through one just above the starter and let everything out on the road. Nearly an engine out job had it been any more difficult to get at.
Also went some RDA slotted rotors for the front and some Bendix Ulimate pads, got decent brakes now and the RDA seems ok so far. First time I have used RDA. |
