Can somebody reply and let me know where i can get the measurements for an 72' xy ute engine bay and undercarriage. icon_smile.gif as i am lookin into doin a motor conversion and would like to do some research before i start... undecided on the xr6t motor or the nissan skyline rb26dett at the moment. icon_razz.gif

the Barra motor will probably fit - modification of the K frame will be needed.
i looked into this a little bit. Not a great deal available. decided to go clevo route as in the long run cheaper and will keep resale higher.

i believe the XR-XY series engine bays are Very similar to the XD-XF's....
you can put an AU motor in a XD-XF using XG-XH engine mounting parts.
BA motors mount the same as AU motors so it should be pretty simple to get the motor in the bay, Good luck getting it running properly either using Stock BA ECU or after market.

as for the Nissan motor anything is possiable....

XG engine mounts aren't required, they're the same as EA items, use the EA upper and XY lower engine mounts.

I'd modify the sump before I'd cut the crossmember in an early falc.
EDIT: besides, I'd put it in on the engine mounts to see how it fits before cutting at things. After all the early falcs had pretty cavernous engine bays.
