I would but I get a real nice gaming mouse, and in order for it to hang round a bit, the pad is better than the beer mat, besides, its bigger than a beer mat, almost double the height.
Don't knock it till you try it though, once its been used, there is no going back. |

| Is it cloth? After a while, the corners start to peel up.. Mine is a shocking example. But after 2 years use, they are worth it. 2 years, $30. Not that much lol |

yeah its neoprene, some slightly different surface, its alot smoother than the traditional cloth pad, if after a year of 2 it starts peeling on the 1 exposted corner, i will just spin the mat around.. but yeah its a disposable commodity, i was looking at a metal job, by razer, but the $$ and a cold a** surface turned me away. the desk top is glass as it is, so the big pad makes a huge difference,
Just installed a gigabyte CPU cooler, dropped about 20 degrees at medium use, so was lucky to push anywhere near 50. just tapped 50 under benchmarking. not bad. my old P4 used to idle and do 50 degrees. |

Alright, a graphics card has been ordered, he old one was just not quite up to spec for what I wanted. I have a Raedon HD3870 card almost ready to go in, just needs to be picked up, this is pretty much the ATI varient of the 8800GTS overclocked stuff..
and got it for a good price too, under $270! I have not seen em at that price since I have been looking, also the reason for going ATI is I will be hooking up crossfire before long and would prefer to go this way instead of SLi, from what I have seen and read crossfire out performs SLi in pretty much every aspect.
Besides, if you are gonna mod something, go all the way, be it car or computer! |

yeah looked at the 9600 and 9800 series as well as the 8800 series gear, pure bang for buck, both all have very similar performance, as a stand alone card, but the crossfire setups smack SLi setups and ultimatly thats what I will be settung up down the track, with nvidia based stuff only using SLi it pretty much rules it out for me,
I have seen cross fire and SLi in operation side by side and the difference is noticable. and they were SLi 8800 GTs cards too..
I was pretty keen on the 9800GTX but avaliability is almost non existant and cost is to prohibitive. high $400's jt does not add up performance for $$ when for a few dollars more longterm 2 3870's were only coming out maybe $80 more total comparitivly. |
