AU Tickford Snorkel into EB/ED V8

EDIT
This will also work on the boxcar lanes and LTDs if you use the thermo fans from an EF/EL.

Parts and tools needed
„« Au Snorkel
„« 2x Self Tappers
„« 2 mil Drill Bit
„« Drill
„« Phillips head screw driver

Time to do this mod
Less than 20 minutes

Some of you have heard that the Tickford AU Snorkel will fit a EB/ED 5.0, and that it will also rub on the back of the snorkel from the power steering pulley, well it is true if you still use that s**t taxing Clutch fan.

If you install a set of EF/EL electric thermo fans you will have no problem with the AU Tickford Snorkel rubbing on the power steering pulley.

also the rubber on the inside of the EB/ED bonnet that goes around the stock EB/ED air intake snorkel will block part of the new AU Tickford intake, all you need to do is push the AU intake snorkel as far forward and drill 2 small holes into the top of the radiator support to hold the new AU snorkel in place, then the rubber will be behind it and out of the way.

After doing this easy as chips mod i found that the car seems to be slightly better in throttle response and the fuel economy seems just a tad better but not buy a great deal.

Oh thanks Brett for the Snorkel.

Here is a few photos of the AU tickford Snorkel on my EB and you can see all the clearance's on it.

Before the mod stock EB/ED Snorkel

if all ford plastic is created equal I'd say it'd be the same as an XR6T snorkel, $40ish from ford.

Ok I have the snorkel on the EB & attempted to install it on the NC, from what I can see reove the fan shroud & it will fit but taking that off I may as well do the thermo conversion.

Was wondering if it would be worth my while running a 60mm diameter hose from the bottom front of my au xr6 into a hole in the airbox? would it make a differnce to the power?
