if i want to put an ef engine in and take out the xh would i have to change the emc engine management computer or would it go straight in

umm,emc?

do you mean ECU,if its the ecu then you cn run the el engine no worries.

no need to change ecu's

You can put it straight in, change over the synchronizer for a distributor, and retain all your other bolt ons.

will have to get an el ecu to run the vacuum solenoid for the butterflies

if he's already got the bbm then the ecu will already be equiped to run it.

but id he has the log manifold then he can just bolt it all up.

i would realy like to run all the ef gear which means the bbm and the coil packs the xh just has the long mainafold

you wont be able to run the coil packs. ef computer has 120 pin ECU.
only xh xr6 came with bbm.
so your best going with a distributor, and an EL ECU as it will plug straight in, and all you have to do is run the wire for the vacuum solenoid
