The company providing my webhosting are a pack of incompetant a***.
Saturday this week, the geniuses decided to perform a hardware upgrade (without informing anyone or warning of possible issues)
And voila! after a week...
* I cannot upload any files via FTP
* don't have a reliable email service
* my website seems to be coming and going (DNS issues)
* the MySQL server isn't back up
* my website will not execute/render PHP, it simply spits the source code out to anyone accessing the site
It gets even better, every day for the last week i have been assured it will be fixed "by close of business today" and support tickets submitted are responded to with generic "dear john, sorry we f*cked up, thankyou for your patience" B.S.
And unbeknown to me, last time i rang was around six months ago and i spoke to a guy called Jason.... this time it was Puresh or something, i have come to discover they are now outsourcing their support desk to India, so not only am i annoyed...and wanting help, but i cannot understand what the hell the "support" people are talking about - but rest assured i understand one thing, they don't know what the hell is going on
I have rung up, gotten past the goons on level 1 helpdesk...to the ballscratching apes on level 2, i have told them indepth what the issue is with their Servers - but even after spoon feeding these inbred dimwits the answers to fix their issues, they still can't get it right
I don't know what to be more s**t about, the fact that the helpdesk is situated in India with people who speak poor english, and haven't got the slightest idea what is happening back in Australia in the data centre
or the dropkicks back in Australia who firstly didn't warn me of an upgrade and obviously didn't plan the migration at all, and secondly take a week to restore a basic LAMP configuration that is setup point and click through Control Panel, that could be backed up... wiped.... re-installed...and have the user data copied back over within a few hours
Anyone else had a situation where they work in an industry, and are forced by circumstance to be at the mercy of the incompetence of other morons working in the industry, and just want to throw them out of the way and fix the problem yourself ? |
