What gearbox, what diff ratio, what current mods, what are your future plans, what do you want out of the cam (top end, bottom end, jack of all trades), how much are you willing to spend, are you willing to do valvesprings.

Answer those and I'll chuck in my opinion icon_wink.gif

Wade 1636 would be the g-o I reckon, off what you've got and are doing.
Benefits are it doesn't need valvesprings, is cheap, and works well with mildy modded auto cars.

You'll benefit from at least a 3.45 diff too, if you can find one out of an EFII Ghia it's a very easy straight swap.
Diff gears are an easy way to go quicker, and do better burnouts icon_wink.gif

They are more expensive though...

If you want something cheap, a regrind is the best bet. WadeCams or CMS (a bit dear but you get vernier gear with it) are always good.

once the cam is in, you'll really need to do the extractors.

You'll be mildly dissapointed once the cam goes in with stock headers.

yes the rev range will be improved (depending what cam you get) but once you put some aftermarket headers on, itll come to life

yeah i want a 3:45 LSD. was told that EF/EL taxis have but unable to test that at pick-a-part icon_sad.gif also i am trying to keep in mind the law says my car must stay stock. no exhaust, no extractors, cams or anything really. so i dont want to go all out. a guy at AMS in melton was telling me about cams and the best way to hide one from the police. and he suggested the best one that will fit in a stock motor.

Any of the cams mentioned will fit in your car with ease. You won't get the full potential of the camshaft until you get a better exhaust system, but you will still get some gain without an exhaust upgrade. I am not sure what would happen if you rev it off it's tits without extractors and a cat back, so it would be advisable not to do too much crazy stuff until it is legal for you to get the exhaust upgraded.

I am certain no police officer is going to pull you over and tell you to open up the engine so that the officer can check if you have an after market cam in it, especially when there are worse crimes in the area icon_razz.gif.

But a 3.45 LSD would be a good start icon_wink.gif

im getting a stage 3 crow cam installed this week along with a performance chip.
a chip is also another way of picking up power without being obvious. it's not like they're going to be pulling your car apart.

smoke, dont be suprised if your car wont run better than a 14.6 even with the new cam and chip cause that time is a cracker, and i would be happy to run that time with the mods i have now

but good luck with it anyway, hopefully you can get something close to fordfreaks times
