I would like to have a really good gas system installed...

Where's the best place?

What's the best brand and set-up?

Cheers,

Simon

Lakeside Automotive in reservoir are to be recomended. They fit Impco setups at a very reasonable price. What area are you located in?

My conversion on EB cost $2200 around 18mnths ago, but they would be dearer now, look them up and ring for a quote and timeframe. Impco systems have the reputation for reliability, set and forget. Some however claim that Impco conversions use more gas than some other conversions. I use 16-18L/100k in outer suburban driving which is acceptable to me.

Rapid Flow over in Hoppers Crossing ( outter west ) do Gas Research gear, and also have good workmanship. I've bought some gear thru there for the Turbo Torana project i have on the go & had my mums LPG Converter in her ED rebuilt there, it's run beaut since.

I know they are a long way for some ppl, but good workmanship is worth traveling for.

Cheers

I got mine done in Moorabbin - the car I had at the time was an NL Fairlane, six cylinder model. The LPG system was wired up to the factory gauge and trip computer, so when I ran the car on LPG, I got consumption figures range, etc.

Looking at about a two day job, plus you get a loan car, it is on Leavenswell road, of Chesterville raod.

My LPG Injection system is hooked up so the factory trip comp gives all the stats, such as instant economy, avg, range to empty & avg speed. The figures are very close to real world consumption, not that my petrol figures were 100% accurate anyway.

Only thing that doesn't work right is range to empty, but i think i have worked out how to fix that, after 4 years of the gas system in my car, lol!

Cheers

Can anyone suggest somewhere in northern suburbs to either rebuild current converter or replace with new?
From what I can tell, alot of places are only interested in full conversions.
