but they don't do frieght overseas. i know i can get a kit from rockit, but thats basically an online supermarket. i was hoping to get a kit though a company that have experience and know the product they are selling.

what wrong with buying from rocket? they are cheaper then VPW and performance whole sale on %95 of the items they stock and you're getting well known top quality brands.

you want the guy who's building the engine to know what he's on about, the guy you buy it off doesn't 'need' to anything, so long as you buy the part numbers that you need.

do you want the long or short story bud....

well i went into auto1 (probably not the smartest move) and asked if they could find out about a 331 stroker kit for me through rocket, after hassling them twice i gave up and decided to go through rocket direct, and get this, after sorting it all out, they sent me a stroker kit for a 5L HOLDEN engine!!!

so i doubt i'll be buying much through there from now on!

we spend 30K plus a month with rocket. the odd wrong part gets sent, but for the most part they are far better to deal with then any of the other whole salers

and anyone els in austraila you buy it from only has to get it from one the wholesalers anyway.

I've found VPW are more likely to whack some off the price of an order.
Probably not such a big consideration for a workshop.

That's typical...all these guy's that work at these places are boat anchor heads so, unless it's a boat anchor they don't know what they're talking about. It's so bad they think customers only want parts for boat anchors.

a boat anchor head still knows how to pass a part number on to wharehouse. so long as you know what you want it doesn't matter if the guy on the phone doesn't. and just like you or me, they can only know so much. No one can be expected to every thing about every thing.
If you don't know what you want, a sales rep in a wharehouse is the last place you should be looking for advice.

although spending as much as we do with them we have one guy we deal with and he doesn't deal with the public,

rocket are cheaper to start with most of the time anyway.

but you right, for a work shop the prices are better, and the more you spend the better the prices get.

I know what I want and I ask for it and nowhere did I mention anything about getting advice! Those dumb a*** boat anchor heads still get it wrong! The C*** even try to use it as an excuse that they're into boat anchors!?!
So obviously a Boat anchor head doesn't know how to pass a f**k part number on!

Love your posts Pete, you beat me as being the most one eye Ford lover when talking about POS GM Boat anchor parts.
