Hey guys,

Im looking at installing a oil cooler to my EL falcon and my parents EF falcon.

What brand cooler did you use?

Did you do the job without taking fron front bar off?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Im looking for something like a kit where its made for EF/EL falcons so i can pretty much bolt it.

My XR had a PWR unit which was installed by the gearbox builder and had brackets made up as well.

I noticed at supercheap today a oil cooler kit which was universal but had cable ties to go through the radiator which i dont like.

Personally I'm anti the cable tie method.

I've got a PWR cooler on mine with brackets I made up.

However, Repco do list on there computers and can order in a specific EF tranny cooler - it's an aftermarket company who made the OEM Fraud ones. They come with the EF specific brackets etc. Bit over $100.00 though.

So is that $100.00 complete with lines and fittings?

Want a good unit for both cars.

Was quoted by a tranny place $250.00 supplied and fitted, and im sure he said it was the ford unit as well.

this might help you out.

http://www.trueblueford.com/HowToInstallTransmissionCooler.htm

I copied this method but i sent both my hoses towards the drivers side and then spray painted the cooler black so it blends in with the radiator/condensor. Didnt want any di..head comments coming my way like "nice intercooler mate" icon_cool.gif

I want to aviod pulling the bar off so i can fit the cooler, but maybe i can get a hand from my brother to do it with me.

Im sure that taking the top cover where the bonnet lach is you can get decent access and install the cooler.

Comes with some universal rubber hose, and a metal barb line that fits into thetranny cooler in the radiator. As I said above it's over $100.00 and it still includes the brackets and bolts.

on my ef theres another dust cover below the top cover which blocks access to where you want to center the cooler. I have taken the bar off a couple of times by myself, dont need to raise the car. The first time it takes a while until you know the location of all the nuts and screws that hold it.
