i have had my roadworthy done and need to fix the passenger side window as it grabs on the side closest to the front and the actual window tilts and comes away from the back.

i have tried greasing the upright rail and using silicone spray on the rubber but it still grabs any help will be appreciated as im trying to get my car done asap for my p's

Remove the door trim, sus out whats come loose,
Chances are the center rail is dry and the window bracket is loose.
Undo the trim, lube away wind it up and down, or even try to re-align it.

The best way I have found is.. loosen the 2 10mm bolts on the window, drive it up and down, then midway hold the window as far back to the rear of the car as possible and re tighten it.

each and every case is different as the mech's wear in different ways due to loading. also check the Bailey channel/ guides on the hinge side, undo all of these until you get a nice clean flow.

anyone else have a better method?

Hey mate,

You will need a 10mm socket with a small extension

I did it pretty much the same as above, undo the two bolts which hold the window then wind it all the way up. They you will see two holes which are drilled so you can access the 2 bolts which hold the window. do these up as tight as possible.

This should hopefully solve your problem

The only other thing you can try is the twop botton 10mm bolts take out and make the holes bigger in the opposite direction off it kicking so you can adjust regulator as required does work other than that new reg

my old fairmont you couldnt even get the door trim off without a special 8 point star key with a hole in the middle. Was weird, I was thinking who would steal my EB velour door trims?? why the need for such bolts?

In that case I never got to fix my stuck window just lived with it. it was drivers side so it ruled out drive thru's icon_cry.gif

Now my AU is starting to stick up, will try this on this model see if the bolts the same...

I've just replaced the guide on the drivers door of my EL with one from an EA-ED because I had the same issue. The EA-ED ones had a felt surface for the window to slide on, the EF-EL ones had rubber which grabs the window more.
I was given some advice form another forum that swapping to the older one would work, and today it proved to be effective, only cost $12 from a pick-a-part wrecker.
