ELGT MAF is 75mm front opening and 82mm back opening for 24lb injectors. The MAF would be damn expensive seeing as they go for stupid amounts from Ford but Ebay or a Ford website like this one would be your best bet.
I was lucky when I got this one. I've forgotten how much I paid. I think it was $250 or something but it could've easily gone for much higher.

Looks like on the cards now is a switch chip eliminator. $600 for the chip. $200 for a generic tune or $400 for a custom one with $120 per hour for dyno time.

Only need it for the 24lb injectors and ELGT MAF what do you guys reckon. Custom or generic? Cost is a consideration.

well its either 800 or 1120, I'd be going a few extra hours of overtime and getting the custom.

It also depends if you are planning to modify it more too, if you arent I would definately go the custom, 1 hr should be heaps for them.

If you got a generic, you wont be getting the most out of it and any little flatspot will be a pain and you will notice it eventually.

By the sounds of the pricing, it would be BPT.

There won't be any further go fast mods to the car.

The entire mod list will be as follows.

70mm Tickford TB.
75mm EL GT MAF.
24lb injectors.
GT40P heads (larger valves than normal GT40Ps).
1.7 Yella Terra roller rockers.
AU 220kw cam.
Port matched Explorer manifold.
3" exhaust.

What do you reckon a custom tune will get me at the wheels keeping in mind its a manual with heavy duty Xtreme clutch?

The aim of this car and its mods to me is what I reckon they should of come from the factory. I don't want to go all out just a nice heavy cruiser.

With the tune I wouldn't want it at its peak I would like it tuned down just slightly so I don't have to worry about summer or bad batch of fuel.

If it was tuned on 98oct premium fuel i'd say between 180-190rwkw

92 stock unleaded 170rwkw

saying this as with 98 octane fuel they can advance the timing to get a bit more out of it, have you looked into getting twEEcer instead of just ELGT ecu, then you can have 5 tunes on a switch and have both options.

Yeah it looks like I'll be getting a custom tune if the wife allows me too. Otherwise I'll have a few bits and pieces up for sale shortly.
I'll be going the Switch Chip Eliminator as the tune of choice.
I'll have a word to BPT today, I'll go in and see them. I've already emailed them and got a good response. Then take the info back to the wife and see what happens.

I'd be happy with 180rwkw or 240rwhp. That would be about right in the stakes of $100 per kw.
I'll let you guys know what the outcome is in the next few days.

If you wish, I have a TwEECer for sale timmeh. If BPT suggest using one instead of a switch chip icon_smile.gif *plug Plug*

The email reply I got from BPT is that they recommend the Switch Chip so I won't be heading down the TwEECer path. Thanks for the offer though.

OK. Go the ELGT ECU installed. The car no longer idles. It starts and then stalls. Its happy to stay above 1000rpm if I hold it with the pedal and its happy to rev past that.
Do you guys think its just that fact it needs 24lb injectors to cure the idle/stall?

I tried it both with the ELGT MAF and the stock MAF and it stalled both times.

Could be the lack of 24's, but i feel that there may be issues elsewhere. I doubt that running lean at idle would cause it to stall, if anything it should rev a little higher due to smaller injectors. Have you cnahged the TB yet and if so was the TPS reset?
I will think about it and seewhat i can come up with.

Pete.
Pretty sure you will need the 24lb's in there to get it running properly.
I take it the battery was dis-connected throughout the ECU swap?

Absolutely the battery was disconnected. I don't want to to take a chance with blowing an ECU.

Still using stock TB so TPS is set correctly still.

I'll get the injectors changed today and see what happens.

I disconnected the EGR as the ECU controls the valve for the EGR and ELGT ECU doesn't have that.

I've dropped my car off this morning to get the injectors replaced. $150 to just replace them.
Should get it back at lunch time.

I'll let you all know how it runs. Hopefully it will idle otherwise I'm screwed. I got no money left to d**k around with little problems that won't make a car run.

Why did you pay someone to do the job. Takes like 30 mins to do the swap yourself

Yeah I dropped it off. It's going to cost $150.
It looks like a pain to get to. It'd take me more than 30 minutes.

How do you do it in 30 minutes? Do you remove the manifold?

Unbolt TB cable bracket and remove.Unbolt top of manifold. Unplug all connections to sensors etc that are on top of manifold.Remove top half of manifold. Unbolt fuel rails and lift up. Unplug injectors then remove. Place new injectors in holes, attach rails. Re install is opposite of removal.
