I'd have to undo all the vacuum lines attached to remove the upper manifold wouldn't I not just sensors?

Anyway it should be done in a couple of more hours so hopefully it'll be working.

Got any pictures of the engine bay. This sounds like sweet build. I like the idea of using all ford parts in a power build.

Alright got it back and its still the same.

Doesn't idle. Something either not compatible or the ECU has a problem. I'd say its compatibility proplem seeing as it did work in the other car unless it was pulled out with the battery on.

ELGT MAF was on Nicko and I tried it with the stock MAF also.

There goes my idea of using an ELGT ECU. Looks like I'll give it a run on the dyno with the ELGT MAF and 24lb injectors see if I can get my ECU back and check the AFRs.

Just gave it test with another ELGT ECU and still the same. Stalls at idle. I put my ECU back in and it works fine even with the ELGT MAF and 24lbs.
For now I'll put it back to stock until I can fund a custome tune.

Shame it will be the only non Ford bit (the tune) if I get it done.
I think I'll see what she pulls on a dyno first and if I'm happy with the power I'll leave it.

Thansk to Jeff for letting me try his second ELGT ECU. They are rare as rocking horse s**t and to let me try both was brilliant. Thanks Jeff.

Timmeh thats damn strange that it isnt liking the EL GT ECU's when they are being used with the matching MAF's and injectors.

I wonder if the MAF sensor that came on your ELGT MAF is the right one?

Would be nice to be able to try the one off my mates car but the amount of stuffing around it took me to get the ECU i dont know if i wanna try get the MAF icon_lol.gif

Well the EL GT MAF works with the XR8 ECU.

I wonder what else is done to your mates car that allows it to use the GT ECU.
I reckon there is something we are missing.

Wish clampy was on here more often to ask him.

That thought certainly crossed my mind.

What do you think Timmeh?

Worth trying to organise trying my Mates ELGT MAF in it? I spose not now that you've fitted your 19lb's again.

I have an ELGT MAF. It still didn't work. I had the ELGT MAF in with the 19lb injectors and the 24lb injectors with the ELGT ECU.

I put the ELGT MAF in with the 19lb injectors and the EL XR8 ECU and it worked.

Its got to be something else.

I would like to see the GT ECU get put in another EL XR8 whether its series 1 or 2 and see if it works.

The number on the ELGT MAF is
F1SF-12B579-AA
AFH70-02
3E06

The numbers on the EL2 XR8 MAF is
F07F-12B579-A20
AFH55-05
6K28

Also the retaining screws on the ELGT MAF electronics still have their anti tamper witness marks still intact so I believe its all legit.
