Thats what I'm hoping, I think with around 100RWHP gains a lot of our N/A sixes including E series will easily get into the high 13's, mid 13's for the more modified.

Well with a moderate diff ratio say 3.45 i'd say low 13's way way easy.

Cam

The kit itself will go right on, zero issues, if I had an AU 3 handy I could prove whether or not the ECU would be happy to be reflashed. Do you know your ECU code, the 4 digit bold print code? If so I can start checking it out

Well we are steadily getting the AU kits out now, all going out with Flash 2 tuners at this stage.

Still some more to get out by the end of the week, had a couple of additional break throughs that the customers will appreciate enormously.

We also have our local Drag Strip reopening and I think if I get a chance will take our AU ute out for a run. icon_smile.gif See how we go.

Tim, what about the 'add on intercooler kits' question above....any plans? These SC systems don't lend themselves to easy/effective intercooling due to their setup.

Will be good to hear AU 1/4 results.

Joe

Joe

There will be intercooling in a couple of months time, we have sussed out some options.

Possibly one thing that comes to mind is while everyone wants it as an option it is rarely chosen/selected even when produced at cost. Presently not in a great rush to produce intercooling option but like I say 2-3 months and we could have a system in place

Tim,

I've been following a thread on AFF where one bloke has had an issue with his Flash 2. He describes the problem as:
Quote:
Tried flashing it as per the instructions, it came up with an error message saying ecm unlock fail, or something similar.

I've previously had the ECM Unlock Fail on a "classic" flash unit, this error means the box isn't unlocked to acquire and learn the car's VIN. Typical CAPA, they sent a heap of boxes out to tuners like this. I had to post mine to CAPA to be unlocked, around a week's turnaround.

You might get a few phone calls, I'm just posting this so anyone else having the issue can see it's not your fault and it doesn't mean the Flash 2 is incompatible with the AU (a point about which there is still some debate on AFF).

Can you have a chat with RDP and post up instructions for anyone else who has the same problem? I'm not sure if RDP can unlock the boxes in Brisbane or whether they will need to go back to CAPA.

Cheers,
Tony.

Further to the previous post. If CAPA have to unlock the boxes, this may wipe them clean, I'm not really sure. In this case they will need the tune file(s) from RDP to reload into the boxes. The live load in the flash box is a different format to the file on the computer (.XTR or something???) and CAPA can't extract and save the live load to reload it. They need the file from the computer to reload if the box gets wiped clean.

Ah thanks for that little tip, could be precisely the issue, I am seeing the tuner in a few hours and will discuss it with him.

Called the supplier

He says that if units were locked he would be able to see it during programming, so it seems they are unlocked and ok at this stage.

RDP have been FULLY assured by the "supplier" that these units and LIVEWIRE will function on AU Falcon, so as you can imagine they are getting some please explain ph calls

Report again later

I wouldn't be worried if the boxes are wiped clean, we can reload them and the customers original tunes weren't taken up so this part of it all is fine.

Next part coming soon icon_smile.gif

OK RDP have contacted the supplier, talked with their GURU and supplier says "sorry XFlash2 not good for AU Falcon you have to use XCalibrator blue screen, works a treat on AU". So the replacement units should arrive Monday and be sent out with tunes loaded up as normal.

How is XCalibrator different, well screen colour is blue and not red, it will load an AU and supposedly does all things the same as XFLASH 2.

There you have it as we know it. Should be good to GO icon_biggrin.gif

The Xcalibrators have all arrived and will be going out ASAP, all unlocked. The Flash2 red screens are already tracking back which is great

They dont have the dreaded CAN sticker on the back (thanks Sly) so should work a treat.

I wonder how much of the FMIC's benefit is lost through passing the intake over the unshielded headers? What Tim has in mind is somewhat different to this. One option is to watercool the blower's internal drive to eliminate this as a source of heat.
