Well we drove her home tonight at around 7.30pm. Must say it is a really, really nice car to drive. I'd say it'd have to be the best modern cruiser i've been in. Not the most powerful thing but nice and torquey but subtle, power comes on nice when you want but there just isnt enough.
Had just under a 1/4 tank and to fill up from that with BP Ultimate 98 @ $1.64per litre cost $85 which was around 51 litres IIRC. Fuel consumption wasnt too bad, average l/100km on our short trip home was 12.5 which i thought was quite good.
Once i've given it a good once over, i.e clean, polish and wax etc, i'll start to have a little play.
Will update as we go along and should have some more pics up soon.

Its nice to drive around in something that's a bit more refined and doesn't make you want to put your foot flat to the floor all the time - sometimes.

Yeah thats right mate. Dont get me wrong the ute is nice to cruise but it has nothing on this. As you said, i enjoy feeding the boot into the ute as thats what i built it for whereas the Ghia is much more enjoyable just to cruise and give it a bit when ya feel the urge.

Yeah i currently get around in an AU forte. Would love a ghia or preferably a AU fairlane simply for the interior and cruise appeal.

Awesome pickup buddy

How about a TL50?? There is one for $16K at the moment, that is a steal! A true luxo barge with handling and power. icon_biggrin.gif

That would be the ultimate, if you dont mind the extra length and the BA sorta look, but for interior and cruise appeal thats got it all.

Picked up the MSD leads yesterday from Dave (BOTTLEDUP), thanks Dave, so they'll be going on today. Attempted to do them last night when we got home but hot exhaust manifolds stopped me doing so. The std header design is shocking, the more i look at them the more i contemplate just spending the cash and getting some pacies put straight on, thered have to be some good gains to be had there. I believe the only difference between the 175kw and the 185kw is the headers.
I'll also chuck on the Tickford intake snorkle, thanks Timmeh, then i'll grab a K&N panel filter during the week. Wonder if they'll make a difference to the fuel economy.
Throttle body will wait untill we can get the upper explorer polished. Im not looking for any gains to be had from going from the 65mm to the 70mm T/B, mainly doing it for aesthetic reasons as i believe the 65mm would actually be the better T/B for the rest of the combo.
Oh and exhaust looks to be a single press bent 2.5" with one muffler and a big gay oval tip. This will have to stay for a while but i'll be looking at changing the tip to a dumpie style and try hide it under the rear bar abit instead if the big blatant, protruding oval one thats on there now. Exhuast note is quite subtle and doesnt drone while cruising etc.

Heres a quick engine bay pic taken this morning after fitting the Tickford snorkle and MSD leads. Went for the subtle black leads, not looking at going too colourful under the bonnet, expect some shiny bits though icon_wink.gif
Also we are on par for 500km out of the first tank of general around town driving, im pretty impressed with that fuel economy.

I have my crush tube headers on the wall, I might take a pick of em, well they might make a good water feature along with the HO manifold....
