Just reset the battery overnight...... will take up to a week of driving before your car decides to idle properly, all depending how much driving you do.
I wouldnt adjust anything until you give the ecu a chance to re-learn |

Please confirm, are the cams actuated by hydraulic buckets?
Assuming they are, it is very difficult to modify the cams sufficiently to achieve any sort of decent performance improvement.
You either have the option of doing billet cams, assuming they are procurable, or, welding the existing cams ( 16 lobes ), which, at $1,292.00 for the pair, is generally not a consideration. |

Cheers for the prompt response mate, it may be the family runabout wagon, but I don't see why I shouldn't do it up a bit still, and with that combo it should go much better then it does now without it running like a pig or costing an arm and a leg to run.
Any idea what sort of a power boost I could expect with a setup like that with that cam?

i run a slightly altered 977b in my EF, and have run a normal 977b previously as well.
The first 977b, which kizzer has now, netted me 150kw at the wheels with a custom tune and ran hard even without the tune.
very happy with the cam, pm me if you want anymore feedback |

The price to Fordmods members to grind an E series cam is $135.00. Freight is extra. If we supply an exchange cam, we charge a refundable deposit of $100.00 for the core.

OK. With an auto transmission, the 1636 profile would be your best choice.
A practical cam that gives a worthwile improvement in performance whilst still retaining reasonable idle etc. |

Questions about the 1521a, btw im running a manual.
What exactly is the reason for aftermarket ecu required? I ask because the 977b says ecu mods preferred, but im getting great performance, fuel economy and idle on stock ecu?
Also what is the basic rev range for the 1521a, is rev limiter removal required to sufficiently run this cam? If it does scream past the stock rev limit, then can the cam be ordered with lower duration to bring the rev range in earlier?
Finally how much for the billet 1521a? |
