|
|
Had a look over the long weekend at the rear speakers in my AU11. I thought there were 6 x 9 but look a little like 5 X 7?
Apart from cutting the shelf, any way of fitting 6 X 9 or 7 X 10 in there? |

| i cut some mdf sheets about 1/2 inch thick into basic 6 x 9 oval size with tabs going in to accept screws from factory screw points, then hung them under the shelf. for all the hassles your probably better off getting 5 X 7's for a neater more proffessional install. |

| They are 5x7s, but with small spacers you can fit 6x9s. |

Sorry for kind of hijacking the thread but im looking at doing the same thing
firstly with an MDF spacer can you still get the stock speaker cover on with 6"x9"s or do you need to put the new cover on? also how thick???
secondly i want to put new speakers in the front aswell I was going to put 6" x 9"s but I dont think they're going to fit anyone had any experience with this? would I be better off going with 6" or 6.5" and cutting a little out??? |

| they're only for abit of rear fill, just throw 5x7's in there, like your gonna sit in the back of your car.dw too much about them.concentrate on the fronts. |

| I looked at putting 6 x 9s in, bought some spacers, tried to fit it in but in the end decided against it because it was just too much hassel. The spacers wont fit in nicely without some modding on the parcel shelf, mdf soloution of some variety. Ended up buying 5 x 7 kickers all round, have been happy with them, getting myself a sub soon to compliment it. |
