well i rang ford up this morening to get a price on a pair of new engine mounts for the v8 and i was worried on how much they would cost, well the guy on the phone says i hope your sitting down as they are $180 each, i said F**k hell are they gold plated he said nope but they come in a plastic bag and laughed.

i rang ford pro at smithfeild, they said they would sell me 2nd hand ones if they had them as they are hard to find for 300 a pair, i said wow and ford said $180 a each for new, he said wow he thought ford didnt make them any more and said they are hard to find.

I ring repco up ask for the price for them he says they are $102 each then i said 1 will take 2 please and he said they will be ready for pick up by luch time.

Ford $180 each (new)
Ford pro $150 each (2nd hand)
Repco $102 each (new)

after i get them i will post up the part number from repco for anyone that wants them.

Thanks for the info! The cheapest I have been able to find them for (at REPCO BTW) was $161...each! RRP was $195, can you believe it?

I'm definitely interested in a pair, also people's experiences in changing them. I was quoted $390 parts and 3-4 hours labour. Opinions?

I may have to visit Repco again. icon_rolleyes.gif

Bump!

EF mounts are $161-195. icon_sad.gif I'm assuming EF went to hydraulic mounts?

Can I retrofit EB mounts to my EF?

How difficult is the job to do at home?

well we did have fun took almost 4 hours to put them on even using a 4 poster, had to drop the k-frame 3 1/4 of the way out and unbolt the rac off the K-frame was a nightmare, even putting them in was just as bad, as piping is in the way all over the pace makes it almost impossible to use a socket in some places, and in other spots had to use a spanner, when they were pushed into place it was hard lining up the bolts as it all had to lined up straight or the bolt would not go in, hard when you have s**t in the way and f**k all room, we almost had to remove the extractors to do it but didn’t end up removing them..

i think the K-frame is different from the EF/el v8 from the EB they bolt up to the block but i think the mounting point on the k-frame is diff.

I got mine at repco at north Parramatta at $102 each

Good luck with selling them on eBay, after i seen what mine looked like after they got removed, that told me i would never buy em 2nd hand.
