Hey all just wondering have easy or hard it is to remove the trim beneath the rear windscreen on an EL Fairmont. The reason I wont to do this is my boot is leaking, it leaks a little in both corners near the rubber and i belive the water is getting it from under the rear windscreen, its only a tiny leak but over time its alot of water. Was goin to full off the trim but not sure how to do it or if i should.

EFs and ELs were renowned for boot leaks. I dont know if your windsreen seal will fix it. Get a new boot seal and im sure there is another fix somewhere here on the forums.

The rubber is moulded to the screen and doesn't come apart, you will probably have to cut the screen out.

Similar problem with upper part of my front windscreen - leaking water and made my roof lining sagged very badly. I tried fixing myself but end up making it worst. I went to windscreen specialist and he replaced top rubbers seals and re-sealed with something like plastic cement (black). You'll be amased how much sealant it will take which is a proof that they were insuffiently sealed at factory.
