Anyone interested to buy this kit, this is now the time to speak up. I have to plan ahead as normal so that I order enough of everything. Our AU kit sold extremely well and we got maxxed out on a few things. This is an attempt to get a better handle on the supply/demand.

This note also applys to those who have expressed interest previously, we need to know who is still on board and who is coming on board.

PM me only, don't post on here.

The options are:

Harware Kit (no injectors no tune) otherwise everything else $3900

Complete ProStreet kit - tune and injectors included
$4700

PRICING ABOVE is good till - JULY 10 2008

So they have to change it again, they said they will ring when its all good.

A day or so more now .... they never checked a thing till I turned up, now they got emselves a nice pile of scrap at their cost

These images of the newly completed brackets in place won't appear greatly different to what I put up earlier in the prototype stage other than the brand new Raptor V attached to the bracket.

The car is a dunger so everything around the whole engine bay is filthy.

Anyhow the bracket is a winner and bolts up flawlessly, I have a couple of pieces to weld on and then the first bracket is complete, will do the other 2 at same time if I see no need to change. Of course a couple of idler pulley's will be going onto there as well same setup as AU which works extremely well.

The room around the charger intake is better than on AU and there are several pieces from the AU kit in this one for some parts commonality. Am planning to use the same drive belt as well if possible, less different stuff is good.

Will attach pictures if possible, had some drama's lately since installing the antivirus, it won't let me upload pictures to Fordmods or edit posts.

The first kit is being fitted in around 8 - 9 days time and then tuned a few days later, that is likely to be followed by a second kit locally within a few days after that. I am likely to end up with plenty images

Would an AU plastic intake section from the throttle body back around to spring tower fit onto EF - EL? I could easily try it, wanting to get away from that dual path intake thing and maybe thats out lowest cost option.

Anyone got a problem with that or a suggestion why it won't work?

Might have some quality tunes to back up the quality hardware, the local guru for Ford tuning seems to have been lined up for the job by the customer icon_biggrin.gif that is good news indeed!

EF's had the dual path intake tube - EL's are single - they are a direct swap. I think you will find the AU will either fit or be extremely close

OK, I might specify that EF people arrange a trip to the local wreckers and pick up either an EL or AU pipe, then all the kits will have same air delivery pipework which saves money for all of us

The chargers supplied for these models will all have a straight discharge with a silicone bend, this means those who want to point it some other direction for intercoolers etc can.

just a quick (and possibly silly) question, how much would fuel economy suffer with these kits fitted? it just fuel is now $1.70+ and going up and i rack up alot of K's

Fuel Economy, this is the EF -EL thread and at this point I don't know how the tuning will pan out in terms of fuel economy. If tune is good and driven lightly I would expect stock fuel economy.

Definitely understand your concerns

Have informed the owner of the EL we need it dyno tested prior to supercharging, this is expected to happen today if they get that sorted! Then we have back to back at same dyno for results icon_smile.gif

Basically as soon as they have this dyno test done I will continue with the install and they can tune and take it from there.

The tuning strategy so far seems that in this case a 6:1 rising rate reg, XR6T injectors and a new fuel pump together with a SCT eliminator chip. We might ask them to see what can be got from standard injectors first as an experiment

Will tell you in a couple of weeks from today, not sure if donor vehicle is going to be properly set up with extractors/high flow exhaust but we will make do with what we get.

No great differences to the AU so I guess up to 75 - 80rwkw gain or up to 120rwhp could be happening for the basic kit

Im pretty interested in this aswell, how will the auto trans hold up with this sort of power? I got the same Exhaust system as what is running on your AU ute and i just got a wade 1502au cam. So hopefully it will get a similar figure to your AU or more. As BLWN_EF said how much will it add power wise

Cheers

Having checked around in the last week or so on the BTRs strengths and weaknesses I have learned the following

1. A full service and clutch adjustment is the best thing you can do for it

2. Add an electronic shift improver from someone like www.shiftkits.com.au which will allow you to dial up your shift firmness.

3. A local here has a 5 litre stroked EL with the BTR so far as I understand and in 5 years of consistant drag racing in the 11 - 12 sec zone with only the above things attended to has never had any issue. He does however change the oil every 5000kms to be sure.

4. A transmission oil cooler is a very good thing, even running around town the trans will heat up to 110 - 120c which is hotter than ideal, get a cooler kit and install that for optimum life.

Otherwise it is a great transmission and is not inherently weak in any particular area, adjust and service accordingly for perfect reliability even at high power levels.
