|
|
Does anyone know if the SCT Flash Boxes (CAPA/Herrod/BPT etc) re-write the Wheel/Axle or Cruise settings in the PCM? Or do these values get left unchanged when the custom tune goes in?
I may be able to answer this myself at some point through some of my own testing, but was wondering if anyone already knew the answer to this.

I didn't need a change when I changed diff, everything just worked.
AFAIK, the tuner takes a copy of your original PCM code, and modifies that. So no need for anything to change. |

OK, I might have found something relevant.
IN the BF Workshop Manual I found the following text:
NOTE: If the VID is incorrectly programmed it will
cause multiple concerns with systems which interact with the PCM, notable automatic transmission, cruise control, ABS, DSC, incorrect speed display etc
....which implies that the settings I'm after are in the VID and are usually untouched by a custom flash tune.
Which means, I can flash my car back to factory with my CAPA box, use my lab tools to change the cruise/wheel/axle values in the VID, then put my custom tune back in.
Sound plausible?
