Morning all

A mate of mine os buying an EF-EL XR8, basicly he wants to know how much roughly to get a good amount of power out of it, say 250kw. Also how strong is the falcon 5.0, what amount of forced induction would it take without cracking it open.

Cheers
Acidic.

A custom tune with a stroker kit in it with GT40P heads and a decent manifold will see 250kw as thats what the AU T3 series had and they made 250kw at the engine. You'd also need bigger injectors and throttle body and MAF.

Going from 170kw at the engine to 250kw at the engine would cost about $8000 if not more.

Now if your talking 250rwkw. Then expect to pay a lot more.

There is so much you can do to them and so many people have differing opinions on how to do it.

A little more info on what your friend wants to spend and whether he wants NA or forced induction would make it a little easier for people to give you their opinions.

He is looking at putting a blower on it, mainly to keep up with what i'm buying next icon_lol.gif i know he will spend the money too, so him aiming for 250rwk possibly 300rwk i wouldn't put it past him, but it will be a project so knowing which way to go and getting out of it as cheap as he can will be the aim.

My 347 in my EF XR8 cost me $10K or so in the end. 230rwkw. Look at my build thread in my signature for specs and dyno etc (Very similar to what Timmeh suggested). Anything higher and you arent just looking at an engine build, you will need Gearbox upgrade and possibly a diff aswell. All depends how you drive ofcourse but It would be adviseable.

Supercharging the stock motor might be the cheapest option.
