My guess is the type of hose material they used, I work for a power steering company and we have had this happen before and have changed the type of material used on the hose.

It seems to be the same rubber as the other hose on the pump, but Ive also noticed the brass union joint he used to mate the new hose to the old one must have a smaller inner diameter than the rest of the pipework, anyone think it would make a difference?

Mine has recently started doing that aswelll. When I turn the wheel, the revs drop considerably, and engine cuts out quite often.
I have been told that it could be pump or something on pwr steering rack.
When you find out the problem, can you please let me know!? Cheers

Anyone know if shimming the flow pressure valve for more pressure might help?
