My mates trying to installing a sound system into his ute.

He has a reasonably okay head deck - enough to run a sound system.
He just bought 2x 10" inch shallow mount subs (mounting depth of about 75-80 mm). Subs are 1000W max each.

What sort of amp would he need to run just both subs?
How much power would it need?

speakers will run for the head deck.

Cheers guys!

'99 rodeo space cab.
Subs are Pioneer TS-SW841D Shallow Mounts.

He's got a Alpine CDE-9873E head deck, but will be probably upgrading to something such as a pioneer with direct sub control.

wiring kit with be a sony kit with fuse, etc.

what amp would be suitable? and how many watts would you need to run these 2 subs off the one amp?
(subs only, speakers run off head deck)

whats the rms rating of the subs and all alpines have direct sub control (if by this you mean sub volume) you just need to turn it on.

simple look for any 4 channel with at least 60 watt rms per channel. Will run 2 subs at nominal rate plus can be used for speakers if you get another amp later on. Just make sure the amp has a LPF (low pass filter) on all channels not just ch1 and ch2.

how much do you want to spend on an amp, give us a price and i'll track some options down
