just get a different speed sender and put it in- costs 10 bucks or so. theres a calculator in the forum somewhere on here. you ut in the old details and the new ones and it works out which colour sender you need. |

What every one needs to do when changing wheel trye combinations is to check that the rolling diameter of the tyre is within the limits of vehicle manufacteres specs or within +or- 15mm of the originial fitted tyre diamater to keep the speedometer within factory spec. All tyre dealers should have a book that states rolling diamater of each individual tyre size and should reference the book with sales outside standard fittment. |
There was an old TEXT based computer game called DRAG RACER that has you doing all these sorts of things to win races and get more money to buy more things. It was interesting.
See - The tyres actually change with the more heat and power too. The faster they're spinning they will attempt to gain wall height and loose width, for example. Thus, if you under inflate your tyres your speedo will be out differently - 5km/h may read 6, where as 160 may read 155!
Go figure.
Interesting game, if somewhat graphically ancient... |

Why not? Am searching for something and (typically) cannot find it. So, yeah- it bumped. For all the mathmetician geeks out there, this game woulda rocked their worlds. Everything from crank sizes to piston diametres to gear ratios and diffs and tyre pressure etc etc etc .. You typed it all in as you bought stuff and it gave you a 1/4 mile time with split times and speeds along every 10 metres so you could judge improvements. Bloody classic!
KRISDOG, I also note you have superlows... I can get some superlows pretty cheap for the front of my EF WAGON. Are the pictures in your gallery with the super lows fitted? I thought they'd be TOO low so I didn't give the guy too much enthusiasm.
But, your one looks pretty sweet to me...
And, theres a guy with some AU ones for $100... I guess AU SUPER LOWS are different to the EF / EL ?! |

AFAIK AU springs are different. I should update my pics, the car sits a touch lower now that the springs have settled in. It'll sit lower again with shortened shocks.
Superlows arent that low in reality. |
