its pulling to the right under hard brakeing..will this settle down when they bed correctly?

There is obviously something wrong.

You need to get back under there and double check it is all good.

The caliper slides might be seized, or the pads are in incorrectly.

make sure your rotors are on correctly. They might have come loose the first time round. So re-tighten the bolts and you should be good...that's assuming it's an E-series.

pulling to the right means you have a left hand brake not working, so check the left side.
As above, check the caliper, sliders, pads and also the brake hose.

thanks guys but i just went for another drive and all is good,there is a little fade to the right at the end,but its more the steering than the brakes,its actually braking quite straight.

rotate tyres front to rear as the front's tend to get out of shape and the car feels like the wheel alignment is out.
But your problem is most likely due to air in the brakes or sticking pistons. Old brakes are horrible things. I have rebuilt my calipers a few years ago and they were much better for a long time. I got another leak when I changed pads last week damnit.
