Hey guys,

I have a question in regards to the bolt and nut dimensions that you need to use when bolting them up.

I was gonna get the from a fastener's joint down here in Geelong but I don't know if its just easier to get em from the wreckers.

I might even have something to suit lying around here at home but this is where I need the dimensions.

Its not as much the pitch I'm just after the length of the bolt and if the nut is a hex nut or not (I noticed on my new radiator there are some square nuts tucked away in a tab thingy and I don't know if they just sit there looking pretty on the EA-ED or what).

Hey,

the square nuts are for the shroud.thread is M6. U could go to repco and get a small pack of 16 or 20mm long bolts. I used phillips panhead on mine. I may get around to swapping them to button head allen screws of the stainless variety.

Is that the spot where you put the bolts? Where the shroud used to be?

16mm is probably better, if I used 20mm wouldn't they go through the radiator and then end up in me using a washer to stop that? or is it the other way round and 16mm is that little bit too short icon_confused.gif. Or is it just me getting my self confused all together? I would have a look but not only will I not get a chance to look at the car in daylight I also have to wait till the weekend until I get to work on it.

yeah you use the two in top of radiator to secure fans, they just clip in at bottom and at the top bolts in using them square nuts. MAKE sure the bolt on the drivers side isnt too long other wise you will break fitting in radiator for header tank hose.

yep pretty sure that is about right length, just watch when doing it up and if its too long just cut it down a bit

well it all mounted up well, apart from filing the holes on the thermo fans to make them fit with the radiator but after that it all mounted up fine.

All I have to do now is wire it all up.

I'll sing out if I run into any more problems.

Ok well I've wired them all up, it has MOSTLY worked out.

The overide switch works how I want it to, the R/H thermo fan turns on when it should.

The only one that doesn't turn on is the A/C Fan. I tapped into the blue wire after the connector (meaning the blue wire inside the engine bay at the compressor but after that connector thing). Is there anything wrong with that wire there? any suggestions on any other wires to use?

Take note again that it is an ED Fairmont.
