|
|
Hey guys,
Got into my car today and it cranks but won't turn over, it'll crank untill the battery goes flat, so I recharged and it still won't start.
I'm on LPG - only (impco)
I checked for a spark and I've still got over a 1/4 of a tank of LPG.
What's my next step? What can I check next?
Cheers,

do you have gas flowing from the converter? check the lockoffs, converter and mixer....
If you have spark, then it seems your missing fuel... |

Thanks for the reply, I'm still new to LPG, how do I check these?
Thanks

initially when you turn the key on, you should hear the gas solenoids click on for 3 sec then click off again.
Once you've determined the lock off solenoids are working, then you need to determine if any gas is coming out of the converter. |

Gas system makes all the noises it's always made when turning the key to "on" |

Right, so I had called our good friends at RACV and had a bloke come an look at it.
He squirted some petrol in a few times, until the engine was running off gas ok.
So he explained the problem to me, essentially inside the (converter?) there is a diaphragm that can stick when it is cold, I have a slightly dodgy Gas install (which I already knew about) that is meant for a dual fuel system, but my car is gas only.
So when he squirted gas into the system the car started, can within a few seconds was able to run under it's own fuel.
My question NOW is: What can I do about this? I'll take it down to a LPG specialist in a couple of weeks, but some ideas from the forum in the mean-time would be great! |
