I've got an AU11 Fairmont Ghia, with the 5.0 and now that ive finished paying it off I was hoping to get a bit more power to the wheels.....180kw at the fly is piss week for a V8!! Anyways, was considering extractors(what brands are best?), unichip/cappa tune, maybe injectors, cam, air intake......ive heard that a stock TE50 snorkel for about $30 would do the same job as a $300 ss inductons kit? Any advise or info on expected power increases would be great. Also, anyone else who has modded their 5.0, would love to hear some stories.

Cheers! icon_razz.gif

Welcome to the forums mate. Nice choice of car also.

With the snorkle your pretty right. For what your car has a Tickford snorkle will do just as good of a job as an SS inductions kit especially for the price difference.
Extractors IMO would have to be Pacemaker Tri-Y's.
Flash tune is definately a good idea also, you'd maybe want to wait untill you have done a few more mods before getting the tune just to get the most out of it. You'll find you'll pick up power/torque all over the rev range, driveablilty will improve and you'll end up with betetr fuel consumption.
Injectors you will not need to upgrade. The 24lb's that are in there now will be fine.
Cam is defiantely a good idea as that is the weakest link in the 175-185kw AU's. If you decide to spend the cash and get one fitted there is alot of choices out there.
Me and the missus have recently purchased something very similiar for her, and your right, the std power output sucks, but we are slowly working on it.
