Thanks for the contribution, my only drama with that one would be pipe length but on 2nd thoughts it is probably not so much longer than any other I guess.
Yes I do have some plans for water cooled compressor cover and there are still other options also |

didnt think heat would be a issue (unlike turbos) but its good to know the options...
time for a stupid question...on a turbo the flutter noise as is caused by the pressure exiting back through the intercooler yes ? as apposed to a BOV... so this would have a similar effect on these SC Systems (with a intercooler) |

| If you get a strong flutter sound coming from an SC system its usually a sign the supercharger is getting hard time, doesn't seem to worry turbos so much. For SC a smoothly operating system is perfect, long SC life and everything is happy. |

I coudn't see the above pic, but what I was referring to is the direction the centri outlet points (back toward right side of throttle body). This means a 180+ degree pipe has to be fitted to get back to a front mount, and air doesn't like to go round corners.
I think Tim can make raptors with the outlet pointing sideways/forward though? This would help with the problem, but won't really help intercool the kits that have already been bought (with the backward pointing outlet).
Heat from above the extractors would also be an issue, lessened with a heat shield. I'll be keen to see how Tim goes about it! Will mean owners can up the boost. Watercooled charger sounds interesting. |

On the AU the charger has a straight outlet not a 90 degree outlet like the BA - BF, you can point it where ever you like no problem.

I can proudly announce our first Raptor AU customer has successfully fitted his kit : YES
He says he only referred to the instructions twice and otherwise could figure it out without assistance, a good indication of the simplicity and design thoroughness.
He initially fitted the kit and chose to not fit the MAP cheater, the vehicle ran quite well and boosted but seemed a little rich in boost so it seems you could install this kit on an S1 AU without the MAP cheater if you chose to adjust the tune a bit to suit. Anyhow in order to see if the MAP cheater would make a difference he then installed that and mixtures appear more correct as opposed to without the MAP cheater, that makes sense to us as the MAP voltage range is locked to a know maximum that suits the tuning values.
So far we understand he has completed a couple of hundred k to run it in and is headed for a dyno shop ASAP to get a handle on how the tune suits his vehicle and look at the power development. His tune is unlocked so a decent tuner should be able to optimise everything for him.
He commented on MSN last night "F**k the thing GOES"
Anyhow we look forward to the other customers getting theirs up and going too.
Bren, Cooky and SLY, will send you all Raptor T shirt shortly. PM me your sizes |

| Raptor.I dont know if you are familiar with my wagon? I have headwork and a big cam. What power levels do you think I would see with your system? I would like to run 14 psi..is this possible? Ba's fetch around 300rwkws with this boost.I have been running xr6t injectors for around 2 years now as my stockers ran out of fuel in na form. I alrady have a walbro 500hp pump as well.I suppose I would simply need a new turbo reg and maybe a full engine management. I would like to see the wagon into the 11's in the future and I dont think its a hard ask seeing where it is at right now. What do you think/? |

USELESS
I don't recommmend our charger unit for 14psi operation, its not different to anything else, it has limits of reliable and safe operation.
I wasn't familiar with your vehicle but am now and I think your goals are surely possible.
In this instance I recommend you select a gear drive charger or turbo as 11 sec quarter passes don't come easy or cheap to anyone. You will be stressing lots of things and its possible you may even want more than 14psi in the future hence my suggestion. |

Just wanted to say thanks, great kit. Was a breeze to install, the only problem I had was replacing the fuel reg, for anyone doing this a 90 degree set of c-clip pliers will make things alot easier as the straight ones strugle for position against the firewall.
After sorting out the fuel side of things fitting the blower would of only taken around an hours of work, I got to see Tim's ute when I was up in Mackay for work, this was almost enough to make the instructions completely unrequired.
Prior to receiving the kit I had an LSD with 3.89:1 gears fitted, on Sunday I went for a decent drive covering around 250kms and with the blower fitted economy is as good, if not better then prior to changing the diff gears which really sas alot.
Only issue I've had is lack of traction thru a set of 19/35/245 nangkangs, rolling at 30kmph if I put my foot down traction is lost before it gets to 4000rpm.
Hoping to get it on A dyno on Friday to have the air/fuel ratios checked, will advise how it goes.
As for the shirt, XXL thanks. |

StealthAu
Thanks for the kind words and for posting in our thread, its all good, for the others here take the tip on the circlip pliers to reduce stress
Geez mate you will get some thrust with those rear gears, my ute has decent thrust and still got the stock gears which are higher ratio than Mount Everest

| Bugger! I had a 3.73 LSD fitted to the wagon in February, sounds like I should've stuck with the stock 3.23's (same as Tim's ute)... |

| Hahahah, 3.7's, hang on superman, anyone who has done gears and adds this kit is going to have plenty entertainment, I have more than had fun already on the stock drivetrain, very important is that the auto is properly adjusted, serviced and has the little trim pot thing or a Ford kit from www.shiftkits.com.au fitted |

So to my understanding.
All I need for my AU1 XR6 is the kit including the new MAP cheater, minus the flash tuner & the "custom" tune?
Ive got full exhaust 2.5"
Custom tune, 1st flash tuner box?
Intake
It makes 143rwkw, I do notice the tune fades away at times, needing to be re flash time after time, would this be a problem? |
