Well done Barry.. of course wiring diagrams will not be forthcoming, although I am sure you will do the next one quickly and simply from the experience gained.
Cheers,

and therein lies the problems with this.

i know they're protecting themselves as though they've done some magical engineering feat however i know for one i wont be sending my car there - mainly due to being in victoria.!

Hello All,

I called Matt today to give him the good news that it is all running, he even heard it over the phone.

The engine fired up first time after weeks of painstaking work. The BA system is stand alaone and works in unison with the old systems.
The fly by wire pedal is installed and any old wiring removed.

The PCM is recalibtrated not only to disable PATS but also reconfigure speed inputs and outputs, A/C and cruise control.

Full SSS mode is available as in BA.

This conversion could not be any more factory looking.

Regards,

Barry Batten.

how long you think it'd take you to do another job like this now you've done it once? alot quicker now that you've dont the R&D?

If I can get solid time on a project like this it would not take so long perhaps only 35-40 hours. Unfortunately at the time of this project we had GT40's and Cobra project also which were also running BA and BF Boss 290's

It is much easier rewiring a vehicle that has no O.E.M harness at all than one that has to be spliced and intergrated into the original system.

We will get it on the dyno early next week to calibrate the speedo as we had to use the extension housing speed sensor which runs into the BA PCM input and then out puts to the instrument cluster. Also make sure the transmission is functioning correctly also.

Barry.

Yes you are right, Easier and easier. We fully documented everything and know what additional components we need.

The best thing about a convertion of this nature using the latest Power PC from BA BF or FG are the benifits of CAN bus and the multitude of tuning product and CAN bus dash boards that are available on the market.

On initial start up we used our DASh DAQ as a real time dash board to monitor engine stats and ensure that the engine was doing what it should.

We are open to offering our advice on Power PC convertion for anyone attempting to go the distance.
